On May 16,2022 we took our dog to New Market Animal Hospital because he started urinating in the house. The animal hospital was being renovated and there were construction supplies in the exam room, empty vials on the floor and very dirty. They examined our dog, did bloodwork and x-rays. They said that they needed to keep him over night for a kidney infection. The next day I had to call several times to get an update and was given conflicting information each time. I asked for a call from the doctor for an accurate update and so that we could decide whether to consent for our dog to stay another night. No one ever called back. We tried calling them and got voicemail. They kept our dog WITHOUT OUR CONSENT. The next day I called and they apologized and said that I can pick up the dog. They mentioned antibiotics and a special diet. When I picked up my dog it was pure chaos. No one knew what was going on, dogs running loose, etc. When I got home, I realized that they didn't mention the special food or provide it, but I was billed for it. I called and they said they would drop off the food in about 30 minutes. No one ever showed up. After a few days on meds, our dog's condition was declining. I called on Monday to speak with the doctor. They said I'd have to wait 24-48 hours for a call back. I reiterated that it was an emergency, but no call back. Finally got a call back the following Saturday, 5 DAYS LATER. I took my dog to another veterinarian who viewed the x-rays from New Market Animal Hospital and immediately noticed that his kidneys were pushed forward and spleen very enlarged. With further testing it was determined that our dog had cancer. Because New Market misdiagnosed him and he had declined so much, our dog was too sick to have the biopsy surgery, therefore he couldn't be treated for the cancer. We had to end his suffering and put him to sleep. Our dog suffered for over a week and our family is completely devastated. They charged us $1825.

This place has left us emotionally and financially exhausted! We had 2 healthy kittens just getting them spayed and microchipped. With our one kitten, they “forgot” the microchip and responded with “well we didn’t charge you for it”… the next kitten we were told had severe pyometra and needed to be on antibiotics for a week. No treatment whatsoever while she was under, just instruction to “start meds next day”…. After a week we did another blood test- they took 4 DAYS to get back to us after us calling SEVERAL times and their response was “she needs emergency surgery the infection is not going down with antibiotics!” We bring her in- NO UPDATES for 7 HOURS on a high risk surgery! It took US calling to find out how she was. After paying $1500, “the infection wasn’t that bad and the antibiotics were working”…. We’ve literally spent well over $2000 in the past 2 weeks and have been left completely in emotional turmoil. No communication, vet techs no nothing and put you on hold, no sympathy, charged office visits on surgery days, won’t reveal test results. The MOST UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE WE’VE EVER BEEN.
