Zenith Kitchen and Bath began work in my hall bathroom on August 2nd. 2022. In the evening on the second day of work I went to inspect the progress. I witnessed subpar and improper installation of the bath tub and subfloor. Regarding the tub, there was no subfloor under it, there was no mortar bed to support it, there was no 2x4 support, and the tub itself was installed with two large cracks caused by the workers. It was not mentioned to me that it was cracked, and I had to discover it on my own. The subfloor they put down was upside down bead board which is not a satisfactory substrate. I informed Zenith I did not want the crew to continue work in my home. They had a second crew come to continue the work, but the result was subpar and improper installation of the electrical and plumbing. The electrical worker was not licensed for the type of work being performed. They did not shut off my breaker panel and began work, creating an unsafe condition. The outlets were open with wires exposed, and my children at home. The plumbing of the toilet flange was crooked and not at the proper elevation per standard industry practices. It need to be fixed. I had this crew removed from my home. The final straw was they brought out a second electrician, and plans were not followed at all. Outlets, Switches, Stud walls, and lights were improperly installed crooked and not in the location of the drawings provided by Zenith. Lastly, my basement has tons of dust and debris that have not been cleaned and represent a health issue. At this point I issued a stop work order, and requested to break our contract. I have not heard from the owners of the company since I reached out to resolve this. I have paid $11,780 and I am requesting a refund due to the time delays and work that will need to be redone. I am requesting a refund of the all costs including cleanup work, except the demo work excluding profit, material they have provided, and the subfloor that has been installed.
