1 starTitle: Outrageous Scam by Iron Mountain Avoid at All Costs!I terminated my Iron Mountain account on 9/17/25, expecting a clean closure, but was slapped with a shocking invoice on 10/1/25 for $698.40, falsely claiming "off-site shredding" of 10 95-gallon bins. This is an outright lieI exclusively used their on-site shredding service, never off-site. Upon closing my account, I explicitly informed them to pick up 10 empty bins from my location. Instead of a simple pickup, they deceitfully charged me $698.40 for "off-site shredding" of these empty bins, despite the invoice clearly listing $0 for container pickup. When I called to dispute this fraudulent charge, their response was infuriatingly dismissive: they claimed its a service fee for picking up empty bins, whether on-site or off-site. This is nothing short of a scam! How can a company justify a $698.40 fee for retrieving their own empty bins, with zero transparency about such an exorbitant cost upfront? They had the audacity to blame me for not asking about hidden fees, as if its my responsibility to uncover their predatory pricing tactics. This is not just incompetenceits deliberate deception.Iron Mountains practices are unethical, their customer service is abysmal, and their billing is borderline criminal. A fuel or nominal pickup fee would be reasonable, but $698.40 for empty bins is theft, plain and simple. They failed to disclose these outrageous charges during account closure, setting a trap for unsuspecting customers. I deeply regret ever doing business with this company and strongly warn others to steer clear. Iron Mountain is a disgrace, and I will never use their services again. Save yourself the headache and choose a reputable provider instead.Review fromR. M

1 starWe requested Iron Mountain return to us multiple files with included very sensitive information enclosed. We agreed upon a date ahead of time. The agreed upon delivery date was important so that a company representative could accept the delivery, given its sensitive nature. The delivery came a day earlier than expected, this day sooner wan not announced to us, which means we were unprepared to accept the delivery. Iron Mountain ended up dropping off the boxes in a commons hallway in our building, where other organizations would have been able to access to the boxes. We find this to be extremely negligent, especially when companies hire, pay, and confide in Iron Mountain to protect and store sensitive information.Iron Mountain

1 starI am more than appalled at the amount of billing errors since I signed a contract with them in 2023. So many additional charges with zero explanation. Unfortunately, we were on auto pay and was not aware of how much we were overpaying until now. I have reached out numerous times to go over invoice by invoice to receive a credit however I am being told we were auto renewed in February and to cancel the contract we would need to pay $1600!! Even though they have overbilled our company thousands of dollars! The audacity!! We have one bin and our contract is set up for 1 console with 2 pickups a month. The billing was fine for the first few invoices then slowly they started charging me for 3 pickups, then they started charging me for 2 consoles, then started charging me a minimum shred expense. So the bill we signed a contract for was ****** (1 bin with 2 pickups). We are now at ****** (for 2 bins and 4 pickups- yet we still only have 1 bin and never asked for change in our pickup schedule!)! And to make matters worse.....the one bin I have is overflowing because nobody has picked up in over 4 weeks!! I can't even get someone from this country to assist me!! Stay far away from this company! I have found that there are far more reputable and trustworthy companies that can handle your shredding. There should be an option for 0 stars!Iron Mountain

1 starTruly infuriating to deal with this company. I will say, the people who came to empty our consoles each month were honestly always lovely and amazing, so props to that team! But the company as a whole is terrible. Every time I called their customer service number I had to call again because my call would get disconnected instead of answered. They were unable to ever resolve an issue or answer a question within one phone call - it would always take multiple calls and emails to get anything done. Something as simple as fixing an invoice has taken multiple WEEKS, and I still have not received the corrected bill. That's the only thing stopping me from fully cancelling my account. Steer clear, and find a local company instead!Iron Mountain

1 starFirst I called to cancel my services with this company because they wanted to charge me to pay my invoices by check. This is their way of forcing customers to pay by ach. Then their customer service is absolutely horrible. I understand they are global but then you should probably have customer service **** for each country so when someone from ******* or ******* calls, they *** will understand what the customer is saying. I called last week to cancel my service and had removal picked up on 8/1. Today they sent the driver to service our bins. I called and had to ***eat myself at least 5 times that our contract had been cancelled and bins were picked up so there is nothing to service but the *** wanted to keep telling me when my next service was scheduled. I had also disputed my last 2 invoices because they were charging me for bins they did not service. *** was not able to update me on that dispute or transfer me to someone on that team that could. Told me someone from that team would call me back. I am still waiting.Iron Mountain

1 starAbsolutely unprofessional conduct and unsavory business practices, it's been a nightmare to end services. Iron Mountain contacted a deactivated user saying that we owed $3K in arrears, and this was absolute lies. Also, when we finally got our consoles picked up, and cancelled our account, they were still attempting to charge us for shred services and additional fees for "driver unable to enter". Each time you call to ask for an update on an issue you reported, they start a NEW service request and it'll take months to resolve simple things. DO NOT USE Iron Mountain!
