I had the pleasure of working with ***** ********. She worked very hard to get our refinance approved. Besides being very informative and patient as our case was not an easy one. She was professional, encouraging, and she worked diligently to get us through the process of obtaining our new loan. Bait and switch.Ruoff was great during the mortgage application process--prompt, kind, and professional. Seemed like they really cared, were talking to us about refinancing strategies when the interest rates eventually drop, etc. Then, just days after we closed on our home, they sold us off to another company.This is especially troubling, as the company they sold us to has a sterling 1.6/5 stars on ****** reviews and was rated dead last in customer service on ********************. If we had wanted to get our mortgage from an incompetent lender, we would have done so ourselves. We chose Ruoff because they communicated over and over that they would be the ones to take care of us--and they betrayed that trust at literally the first opportunity.Contrary to what their customer service team will say (if they bother to respond), the possibility of our mortgage being sold was Never. Once. Discussed. With. Us. (Although I'm sure it's written in the small print somewhere in the hundreds of pages of documents we were forced to speed-read and sign). And apparently there was an option to pay more to ensure that our mortgage would not be sold--an option they also conveniently forgot to mention.If you choose to do business with Ruoff, know they are wolves in sheep's clothing. At least make sure you know who they're going to sell you to.Ruoff Mortgage

We appreciate your loyalty and understand the importance of maintaining continuity in your financial relationships. We want to assure you that we didn't intend to mislead you. Your preference for Ruoff to service your loan wasn't communicated to us until after the closing process.
As you're aware from our previous communications, this wasn't our preferred outcome, we acknowledge that servicing transfers are common in our industry,but we wish it weren't so. We're actively working towards retaining and servicing more of our originated loans in-house in the future.
We apologize for not having a better understanding of your preference to retaining our servicing during your loan process. In retrospect,we could have explored potential options with you earlier. While our closing documents did mention the possibility of servicing transfer, we acknowledge that this information may be a lot to take in, and we'll work on making that information clearer in the future.

I enjoyed working with **. He and I watched the market to lock in the best rate for my mortgage. I was treated as a partner rather than just a client. I never thought I could own my own house, but Ruoff made it possible. They were quick, but thorough and careful in finding down payment options and the best mortgage for me.
