I have many different kinds of first alert smoke detectors in my house most common is Model: SA303CN3 / SA303B And the other morning my dog woke us up because my house was on fire and full of smoke and not one of my 8 smoke detectors were going off. Not happy. As a local firefighter stay away from this brand.

I have a First Alert Model No. PC1210 dated 2017 Apr 13.I keep having what I call false alarms. It is installed in a Motorhome. The alarm sometimes goes off in the middle of the night with no nothing on. We have propane refrig (was set at on 120) hot water tank was off. No heat or air on. Diesel generator not I use. What could it be ? Had the same experience several times during the day. It will sometimes stay on several minutes even while being manually fanned. What next ? Very annoying and scary

We can reach out to ***********. Unusually, Since this PC1210 is a smoke alarm and a CO alarm, she is not advising if the alarm she is receiving is a Smoke or a CO alert. We don't know how far the alarm is from the sources- propane is a source and the diesel generator is also a source. Since there is no phone number provided- I will need to reach out via Email for more information. We apologize for the inconvenience of the alarms to ***********, but, again we need the opportunity to troubleshoot.Best,*************************** Consumer Support Mgr

Horrible smoke alarms (model p1210) made by first alert do not function but they constantly give false alarms. Product has been in use less then 2 years and wakes me up in the dead of night with false alarms. Shame on first alert for betraying the trust of the American public by producing and profiting from a malfunctioning safety device.

We had two First Alert model SC9120B date code June 2014 went bad at the same time on November 30, 2022. According to a record, it carries ten year warranty. Both of them just went bad a little more than 7 years. We call First Alert they said " It is out of warranty". We are very disappointed to these products. They published ten years warranty on their products but they told me the warranty just seven years.I wish I could load up a picture along with my complain so they can see their products.Very very disappointed at their products and warranty. I hope people can view my review and think about this.

The ************* of the SC9120B dated from 2014 actually had a 7 yr warranty. The reason is due to the Carbon Monoxide sensor life at that time. The manuals for the 5yr, 7yr & 10yr SC9120B are all available on the www.brkelectronics.com website. These 2 alarms actually gave 1 yr of additional protection before giving the End Of Life signal. We did reach out to *************** on 12/3/2022 and tried to explain this to him. We did place an order for 2 SC9120B alarms for him as a courtesy. We are sorry that he misunderstood the warranty on the alarms he had. With the replacement of 2 new alarms being sent as a good will gesture- we consider this matter closed.Regards,*************************** Consumer Support Mgr

I had 2 units of the First Alert smoke and CO detectors (model SCO7A) both purchased and installed at the same time. They both gave me a low battery alarm around the same time over past few weeks. Upon replacing with fresh batteries BOTH of them give the 5 chirps and say the detector has malfunctioned. I even tried different battery brands. Total garbage product that only lasted about 3 years. Buyer beware!!!! Its almost as if they program them to fail. Someone should look deeper into this because it's very unusual to see BOTH detectors exhibit same behaviour and other online report the same thing...class action lawsuit perhaps? Hmmmmm

Model P1210E, ******* 2021 Feb 12-L36. Most current problem. Activated 10/4/2022. Three chirps signaling end of its 10 year life on 10/7/2022. I have purchased 8 of these alarms in 2019 (4 packs of 2 alarms) and 2 in 2021 (1 pack of 2). I've put in service 7 in 2019. I've had to replace 2 in 2021 and 1 in 2022. With 2 out of 8 malfunctioning within 1 year and 1 having a dead battery after 3 days, this is way more hassle than it's worth. Usually a 10 year warranty means a company believes its products to last 10 years. In this case, based on my experience and others reviews, this really is a 10 year replacement service term. Disappointed. Please don't reach out. Just take the "warranty" off your marketing.
