I was parked in a parking lot spot that wasnt designated for that business use only, other spots in the lot had clearly marked towing warnings. After roughly 20 minutes parked in the lot, the business towed my vehicle. Upon retrieving my vehicle ~6:30 pm, they told me there would be another $50 charge for coming after hours (4pm, which seems earlier than appropriate). They only accepted cash as payment, I dont know if thats legal or not, but it feels pertinent to mention.Business Response

As the attached picture shows, the Doom vehicle was parked directly up against the ***************. The photo clearly shows that this parking space belongs to Subway and Subway is the business that called and requested removal of the vehicle at owner's expense as is their right to maintain appropriate functionality of their grounds. Furthermore, Crow Tow maintains office hours every day of the year. Those hours are from 8-4 M-F and 8-Noon Sat/Sun/Federal Holidays. For her convenience, Mrs **** was offered to pick up her car after hours but that requires pulling additional staff from their other positions so there is a charge for after hours service. Mrs **** could have saved $50 by waiting until regular office hours the following morning. However, Mrs **** chose of her own accord to leave her vehicle on private property without permission as well as partake in after hours service so all charges on the attached invoice are justified and appropriate. Crow Tow considers this a closed matter.Initial Complaint

Parked in a trailer court to visit my dad. It says no TENANT parking on streets!! Im clearly not a tenant. My plates say Nebraska. They are making so we cant come visit my father. Wasnt even there 30 minutes. ****** Because it was closed. Not closed to pick up cars! This trailer court makes money off the crow tow every time they tow out a vehicle. One of their employees came in bragging that he already got 6 cars for the night! There are no signs where I parked that I could not park there. I AM NOT AN TENAT! Thats what the No parking signs say. I believe they stole my car and made me pay to get it back!! They are thieves!!Business Response

************** vehicle was not towed for being parked in the street. It was towed for being parked on the grass which is enforced 24/7 for ALL vehicles at that property which is the right of that private property to protect their assets. Perhaps the complainant's father should have instructed them on the parking policies where they live. The attached pictures very clearly show the violation. All local/state/federal laws and statutes were followed at all times and the vehicle was even allowed to be redeemed after hours. Crow Tow considers this a closed matter.Initial Complaint

I was towed from a parking lot with no tow signs. I have been parking there when I visit my friend for years. All of the sudden I get towed. There was absolutely no indication that visitors are not allowed to park there whatsoever. Stole my car in the middle of the night.Business Response

The ***** vehicle was towed from an apartment complex that Crow Tow has monitored for well over a year and their policies is well understood by all in the company. There are several signs regarding towing on the property but the direction they should have read regarding the parking situation would been found in the airbnb packet where they received their green parking pass they had displayed. In the packet it clearly states that the paved lot is for permanent residents and those using the airbnb pass must use the gravel lot to the north. Crow Tow performed the work accurately according to policy directed by the private property management company. As such, the tow and all associated charges are valid and a refund will not be provided. Crow Tow considers this matter closed.Business Response

The vehicle in question is a ****** Rav4 towed from *********** on June 8th. *********** began enforcing a permit only parking program in early May. Signage for private property is not a requirement by state or local law, however, there are several signs throughout the property advising of the permit only status of the lot as well as individually marked stalls where visitor parking is allowed. Furthermore, the resident should have also advised their guest of the parking policies. The Rav4 was in a permit only area of the property. Crow Tow administered the private property parking policy in according with the guidelines set by the property management. As such, the tow and all associated fees are valid and justified. Additionally, the vehicle is not registered to nor was the bill paid by *****************************.Initial Complaint

******** came and took our 2010 Dodge Journey from our assigned parking space because they said we are parked in front of a dumpster. The location of the dumpster is located in front of the parking space. For years it's been designed like this and we parked here for 5 years. No one called ********, they ride around stealing people's cars after midnight. Now my wife has no car to get to her medical appointment and she is disabled.Business Response

The *********** property has had a working agreement with ******** for several years where ******** has been asked to monitor the property 24/7 and tow any vehicles blocking access to the dumpsters, blocking the drive, or blocking the entrances to the complex. Attached is a photo showing the complainant's vehicle clearly parked directly in front of the dumpster. As such, ******** performed exactly under the guidelines requested by property management and considers all towing/impound related charges to be valid and appropriate.Initial Complaint

My girlfriend decided to visit ********** on December 29th 2022. We went to dinner then stopped off at a few bars to check out the night life. We stopped at ************** on ************* in **********. We parked in an abandoned gas station lot with other cars around and no clear signage that cars would be towed if they were parked there. We were inside the bar for 30 minutes and came out to no car, it had been towed by Crow Towing. We went back into the bar to find out what was going on, everyone was said ******** pulls cars without warning or complaint from parking spot owners at will. I did a lot a of research of ******** and it's clear they are a predatory tow company doing a public disservice for personal gain. As visitors, we were completely unaware that parking in what appeared to be an abandoned lot, with other cars, and no clear signs was going to cost us $165 and the incredible inconvenience of a tow. The company and employees are incredibly rude. They all wear body cams. Their office is protected by thick bullet proof glass, and their yard is protected by ***** watt electrical fence. They have all these protections in place because they blatantly steal peoples cars and demand money for getting them back and that infuriates people. Businesses like this should not be allowed to operate and legislation should be put in place to restrict them.Business Response

There are several signs on the property in question indicating no parking and that violators will be towed at their own expense including at every pump station and the east wall that borders the separate private business the complainant admits to being a patron of. Complainant admits he had no permission to be on the private property in question and is merely trying to say he shouldn't have to pay his towing bill because he feels some sort of entitlement to use someone else's property without permission and unfortunately for him, that is not the case. The gas station property has had several issues with vandalism and theft in the overnight hours and has had an arrangement with ******** to tow any vehicles on that property over night for well over a year. Fortunately there are laws in place to protect those truly affected here and that is the owners of the private property, not the trespasser. All such laws were followed and all towing and related fees are therefore justified.Initial Complaint

On December 26, 2022 I called ******** to get information of recently towed car. I was quoted a price to get car out of impound. When called to get out( same day) was then told a different price of $100.00 and notified that I could not get car out due to office closed. My vehicle was not left for over the 24 hour abandoned car application for **** code. It took me 3 days to find car. Now I am being charged outrages fee and can not see invoice until I pay towing costs. I would like to see invoice and explanation of way charged $59.00 for court fees and another $50.00 of storage fee if I could not get out due to business hours. Fee charged after business hours.Business Response
Date: 12/27/2022
When a price is quoted over the phone it is for that specific point in time. Charges for storage and other processing related items required by the code of **** and the *** will continue to accrue until the vehicle is actually redeemed. Office hours are published on ****** and though may not be provided 24/7, they are provided 365 days a year including through all holidays, major weather incidents, etc so no vehicle has to accrue more charges than the initial fee unless the owner fails to redeem it within 24 hours. Most other storage businesses do not provide the opportunity to redeem every day and still continue to charge storage for every day. I can surmise from the context of the complaint that the vehicle was towed from private property and thus the 24 hours mentioned do not apply. That only applies to public owned properties and municipalities. A receipt containing an itemized breakdown of all charges is provided upon check out.Initial Complaint

On the early morning of Nov 26th, 2022, I was parked in a lot on Ingersoll -without signage indicating it was a tow away zone. I expressed this to the Crow Towing employee that there was no visible signage. The employee stated that it was because people kept taking them (the signs) down. A few days later, I see that there are now signs ** in that very location. This is a clear indication of an unfair situation that the company knowingly decided not to be transparent about. This is a predatory practice that cost me $165 plus time and mileage to the towing company. I would like a refund as soon as possible. I have video recording if necessary for purposes of resolving this. I do not trust talking to the company myself over the phone because I want any correspondence in writing- and they do not have an email listed anywhere.Thank you,*****************************Business Response

*****, you have not redeemed a vehicle from **. The person who redeemed the vehicle in question has been towed by us before and understands the policies.
There are signs on the property in question and the person parking ignored the signs. We have not added any signs. It is very transparent.
This was clearly a valid tow. We consider this matter closed.

I am rejecting this response because:I have no idea what Crow Towing means in this response. I have never been towed by them before and I have never parked in this lot on Ingersoll before. My car was in their tow lot for less than one hour before I paid and picked it up.
I am happy to provide BBB with the video but am unable to upload it in this format. I am uploading photos. I also have witnesses if requested.
I have video and audio of both the parking lot before and after. I will be happy to submit it as evidence. I am also happy to file an official complaint with the ****************** if that is preferable. Please let me know what Crow Towing would like to do to resolve this as it is not yet resolved and continues to require my own unpaid time to resolve.
Sincerely,

There were signs on light poles all over the property at the time of your tow. You were towed at midnight when there was clear notification that parking closed at 10:30 and there was no overnight parking allowed. Photos of the signage are attached. When the property finished some landscaping recently they replaced some supplemental signage in regards to their day time operations but that in no way affected the tow in question.Initial Complaint

My vehicle was towed from the residence of which I live. Ive had a parking pass and currently have one as Ive had this truck for two weeks(so they shouldve known anyway) they towed it without putting the proper skirts under the tires causing issues to my transmission. I know this is what caused it as my transmission had NO issues before being towed! Leaving the ******** lot it would not shift into another gear until high rpms into the ****. Owner refuses to accept responsibility. I requested a tow report which was not given. Makes me wonder what other shady things are going on within this company.Business Response

You have not paid for a vehicle here so you do not have a valid claim. ********'s vehicle was towed from a permit only lot with no permit. She paid for the vehicle. We have pictures documenting as such. The vehicle was put on a flatbed. With the vehicle in park, nothing turns inside the transmission. This makes it impossible to hurt the transmission. When you sped off our lot spinning your tires at a high rate of speed, the transmission appeared to be working fine even as you were abusing it.
Towing is at the request of the property owner. I suggest you talk to them for policies.
We consider this closed.

Tis business towed my car off of my apartment property ********************* apartments. They did not provide me with any documentation of why they towed my car. All they would do is give me this receipt. The apartment complex refused to give me any documentation either.Business Response

Your complex has engaged ** to tow for several reasons, one of which was taking up more than one stall.
You were told this when you called on a recorded line and again when you redeemed your car. This was a valid tow. We consider this matter closed.

10/14/2022 ******** towed my car while I was delivering food at my own apartment complex, I provided proof of my occupancy. They still choose not to rectify the situation and refund me the money That was illegally taken from me. When calling to speak to someone in authority he proceeded to curse at me and also, describe me as you people. I offered to provide proof, and he proceeded to hang up on me.Business Response

Your car was parked in the handicap stall with no handicap permit. No parking permit for the lot was displayed on the windshield, dash or anywhere visible.
Your car was towed for TWO different reasons.
All calls are recorded. No one cursed at you and NO ONE said "you people". These are slanderous comments with no basis in fact.
