On ******** ***** **** I had a dental emergency and had to go get a filling done on my front tooth. *** **** was the only dentist available to see me. I have DELTA DENTAL PREMIUM dental insurance which the dentist office mentioned they accepted. Completed my treatment and they explained to me how I had to pay for the full service ahead of time and they would submit the claim to my insurance on my behalf. They proceeded to confirm that after they submit the claim, my insurance would send me the check for the portion that they cover. The full amount I was charged for the services was ***** that was fully inclusive of everything that was performed. The office failed to provide me a receipt but mention they would send it over email, never received it. Recently found out via my insurance that the dentist office charged them **** (more than what the full cost of the service apparently was) and had my check of ******** that was the portion that was covered by my insurance, sent to their office and cashed out the check on 12/16/2021. When I found out, I started calling *** **** office to ask for my check and they ignore my request as well as never provide me my money. Turned out as well that the Dr. wasn't an in-network provider so they were able to get away with this with my insurance. Prior to figuring this out, *** **** insisted on me scheduling new appointments for services and had me call my insurance to figure out how much money they would cover for services such as full cleaning in-network so she overcharge the insurance and make sure I get refunded as if I was in-network which is completely breaking the law and have to report it. Would appreciate it if my check can be sent to me and the dental office is flagged for this shady business practice that has been probably done for a very long time.
