1 starWatch out bad business practices.Specifically, their contract's fine print.Take their cancellation timeframe, which is unrealistic.For example, if you want to cancel, you have three days to do so in a written letter that has to be mailed , like the postal services can get your letter to them by that time frame.The money, like any credit card, is paid for services. You get a notice of charges when your product is sent. Wrong, i never received a notice until the bank told me three days later after i had canceled the order by email and sent a letter by postal service.Sales, pitch doesn't matter what he tells it won't be what's in the contract, which will be completely different, and the cost will change ***** nilly because the contract has been given addendum rights.That's right, another way for more of your money to go into their pockets .Remember, you still have yet to meet the contractor, who is actually going to do the ********** is already out the ******* wouldn't it be a better practice to charge the customer after this meeting, when reality these are the measurement they use to build your windows? Which is what the money is for materials and labor.The sales guy is the approximate for cost, but not the actually the cost, Remember addendum changes the total cost.This company charges 50% cost at time you sign contract, if you do cancell they still charge your account and you have to wait days, months if ever you to get money back and it won't be all of it if any at all as they will charge you admin etc... feesRenewal by Andersen of Alabama, LLC

1 starRenewal by ******** was contracted to install black trimmed windows in the front of our home. The picture window on our second floor that faces the street has black trim and white J-Channel. It is not all black as contracted. The J-Channel apparently can't be found in black in the size needed. Renewal by ******** knew that the J-Channel could not be found in the needed size before installation took place as they sent the installer with white J-Channel. This was not mentioned to us before the install of the window occurred. This window has a half circle at the **** that is 35x17 and a square window at the bottom that is 60x60, When I reached out to the supervisor on the job to let him know that a black and white window was unacceptable, he offered to buy me a black can of paint. I asked if he was sending out painters and he said "no" that he is not a painting company. The supervisor has been out and seen the wrongness of the work. In trying to reach a compromise, I was willing to view grey J-Channel. He took a piece of our siding to match up the greys and said he would be in touch. Our window installation took place on November 18th. I have 10 emails to the supervisor unanswered. We have paid for our windows in good faith. The black/white window is mentioned in both the completion certificate and the customer walk thru. The approximate cost was $7,000. Renewal by Andersen assured us at the beginning of the project that we would be 100% satisfied with the job. The job was triple checked before the install by the salesperson, the supervisor and then again when the materials come in before the job was started. Not once did anyone reach out to us to let us know that there was no black J-Channel for our job or that they would be installing white instead. As you can imagine, we are deeply disappointed in the error of their work and the treatment of us after the install. 1 starTHIS COMPANY SHOWED UP AND CONDUCTED A 2 HOUR PRESENTATION.**** REFUSED TO HONOR AD THAT GOT THEM THE CHANCE TO PRESENT PRODUCT. TOLD ME "WE NEVER DO THAT" WHEN ASKED TO SHOW ME WHAT DEALS WERE FROM THE AD.WASTED MY TIME IN OFFERING TO PUT IN 19 VARIOUS SIZE WINDOWS AT $63 K. I SHOOK THEIR HANDS AND SENT THEM PACKING.THESE **** SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED IN HOME AS THEIR PRICING HAS NO BASIS IN REALITY!!THEY WILL NOT HONOR AD THAT THEY/VE PLACED IN NATIONAL PUBLICATIONS. 1 starI would never recommend this company for anything. We had a horror story. Our windows had to be installed twice ( the trim around the windows did not match around each window or from window to window) From 4' to 1.5" on even one window. There were 12 windows total. Screws were missing when installed and then yellow deck screws were used to complete installation. Screens were left loose on a number of windows. Months later a crew came back to fix windows and they were taught on the job how to fix them. As day went on and time ran out, work got sloppy. Because of the uneven trim, siding that had been cut off at first install, had to be replaced. Unfortunately, although the same siding was ordered, it did not lock together with the old. We still have loose siding. We did receive a discount but it does not cover the fact that the only way to really fix the siding is to replace it. The most disconcerting part was dealing with one of the principals we met with to resolve this. He refused to look at photographs a number of times to see what had occurred and why the siding was a problem. He said he had run a siding company but could not understand why siding no longer locked together. He said they didn't do siding and they weren't responsible for (even though they are ones that cost it out). Then he admitted he ran company but didn't know about installation. How do you train crews, care for customers, and do a professional job, when you don't know how the work your company does gets done?After some research, we found that you can purchase ******** windows (not Renewal) for much less money and get an experienced contractor to install for less. And you can even get custom sizes if you need, with not the loss of glass area that happens with Renewal windows.Renewal by Andersen of Alabama, LLC
