On Monday 12/20/2021, I contacted ****** at XXX-XXX-XXXX with LA Machinery Moving to unload a solar carport shipment going to************************************ XXXXX. ****** quoted $400 to unload the shipment. On Tuesday12/21/2021, I contacted******* to confirm the time of the delivery and I told him there would be a $400 check with our foremen for the work. On Wednesday morning, ****** hands our foreman an invoice for $*****. (Attached) I called******* regarding the invoice and now he is claiming that he never mentioned the $400 figure and wanted $***** for the work. I along with our sales manager and system designer were all contacting companies to get the best pricing for the work. When I told them we have a company to unload the solar carport shipment for $400, they stopped getting pricing and I made the check for $400 as agreed. Our foreman gave******* the $400 check as agreed. Then ****** said he would put the solar carport shipment back on the truck unless he gets the $***** payment. I told him that we were not going to pay the additional amount above what was verbally quoted to me. After some haggling over pricing,******* said pay $800 instead of the $****. We ended up having to pay an additional $412 plus the $400 check that we agreed on or they would reloaded the truck with the solar carport shipment. We never would have used LA Machinery Moving if they had told us their rate was $*****. We had several quotes at half that price. This is nothing more than a rip-off to verbally quote $400 then switch to $****. We received the inflated invoice for $**** after the unload. The work took 30-40 minutes to unload the shipment. The additional payment of $412 is nothing more than extortion by LA Machinery Moving.
