After hearing that eharmony has millions of customers and they are supposedly the best site to find a true match, I decided to give it a shot early this year. After I signed up, eager to see all the great matches they promised, the only thing that was great was my disappointment. There were hardly any matches from my or the surrounding cities. I expanded my search to 60 miles, which was something I wasn't sure of since I cannot move/have to stay in my city and I wanted someone I could see a couple of times a week (and, later, every day) and not a pen pal, but I wanted to find more matches. Again, huge disappointment. There were not a lot of men within 60 miles either and most of them were outdated/not active and didn't have pictures. The experiences with the very few people who were out there are as follows: One scammer, several creeps, one "open relationship" guy (so much for eharmony matching you up perfectly), no replies to any of my likes, and a few received likes I wasn't interested in. I started replying half-heartedly to a couple of men who I wasn't really interested in and then hardly logged back into the site.I canceled my auto-renewal right away. After a few weeks, I decided to write a complaint to see if they could cancel the open installments for my 1-year membership. The reply I received is attached. Basically, there are only very few matches because they want to make sure they are right for me (that must be why they matched me with the open relationship guy...) and that I should expand my search beyond the 60 miles. **** of course, they are not giving me any money back and I still have to pay the other installments. Now, as I could see from other, similar complaints, I'm most likely not getting any money back and will only receive copy/paste standard replies from eharmony with excuses, but one can try. At the very least, my complaint might help other people so they won't get scammed by this company with lies and false advertisements.
