In June of 2022, I had not so good credit. I researched quite a bit and walked in with a pre-approval. I told my sales guy not send my credit application to any other bank except the one I have pre approval with and that I dont want to purchase any warranties or gap. I mentioned that if they couldnt go thru my pre approval, I would just walk out. The bank obviously accepted the deal with certain %APR. However, the finance guy later tried to sneak in a warranty, gap and tried to rush it hoping I wouldnt notice it by dangling a 2% reduction in APR. I called him out and made him remove those extras before signing and walked out with the car. Although bank was fine with original interest rate, finance guys shady tactics threw banks calculations off and they sent the deal back to add the 2% points back on like it was before finance guy messed it up. Now, if they had called me and asked to re-sign the deal by adding 2% back, I mightve done it. Instead, they sent my application to various banks(which I explicitly told not to) after a week without even running it by me. This made me furious and I returned the car as it was not funded yet unless I re-sign the originally approved deal. At the end of the day Im stuck with bunch of inquiries that I explicitly told them not to. I know I signed the application and all the inquiries within 45 days period are lumped as one for score. However the # of inquiries itself is a negative factor and is affecting my biz approvals even though my score drastically improved in past 16 months. I called in a few weeks ago and I was told someone would reach out with a resolution, no use. I walked in and explained to sales manager what happened and he said he couldnt help because there are statute of limitations that would prevent him from rectifying this as significant time has passed. Made up s*** should at least be believable. Just say youre a lazy POS/ you dont really care about the reputation of the store or a persons Credit.
