    It has been reported by consumers that the company is requesting they remove their negative reviews before the company will provide the financial settlement.

    In a customer review received in February 2023, stating, " The day before my move, I got an email saying that I had to empty all of my drawers so I had to pack everything in boxes. When they picked up my belongings on Nov. 30, he said I had to pay $400 more because I had too many boxes. They did not deliver my items until Jan. 4! The boxes were damaged...big holes and smashed. It looked like they had thrown my stuff from truck to truck. My $1000 recliner was stuffed in the truck. It arrived with grease stains all over and it did not work! The driver refused to drive to my apartment door. He said I'd have to pay an extra $500 because they had to move my stuff to a smaller truck. They charged for using an elevator and stairs! They charged more because they had to walk more than 50 feet. The moving man was extremely rude! On pickup day he threatened to take all of my stuff off the truck and leave. On delivery day, the guy threatened to drive off with my stuff and take it back to Houston, where I would have to pay storage fees. Worst customer service ever! And ofcourse, they did not pay for the damage."

      On 12.15.2023 my furniture and other items were picked up from San Antonio TX. Upon hiring the movers I was told my items would be delivered within 7 days of pickup. I would be called 48 hours before the delivery to IL. Also I was told I could pay by debit upon pickup - there was no mention that if I used a debit card (which is the same card I used to pay for the initial down payment) I would have to pay a 5% service fee. I was only told this upon my items being picked up - which at that point my checks were boxed up. Called after a week went by and it was 14 days until my items would be delivered. Called on 1.3.2024 and now I am being told it will be 21 business days until my items are delivered as there is no one to drive to IL. Maybe do not take business if you know you cannot do a delivery that far. Also they placed tape directly on my hardwood furniture upon pickup which I told them not to because it will ruin the finishing. They aslo dragged my dressed down the stairs rather then actually carrying it. So I expect my furniture to be ruined upon arrival and will have a couple of friends with me to verify if things are broken or not!

      Do not use American Knights nor International Van Lines if you value your belongings. This company was subcontracted by IVL without our knowledge. It was an in state move with 3 months of what was supposed to be climate controlled storage. Twenty eight pieces of furniture were delivered damaged in transit and/or storage. Items were water damaged, heat damaged, functionally damaged, scratched, torn or totally destroyed. The claims process took two months and resulted a payment offer of $400 based on $.60 per pound per item. It's going to cost in the neighborhood of $10,000 to repair or replace the damaged items.
