I received notice from TransUnion that Barclays has preformed a hard pull of my credit. I have no idea who they are, nor have I applied for any new credit recently. I have no idea how they got my information, but it was certainly without my consent. I have put a freeze on all 3 of my credit reports but after reading these reviews I am afraid the damage is already done. It appears as though this company can behave however they want with no repercussions.Review from Stephen N

I have had a Barclay Master card for about 6 years now. For the last year, I have been fortunate enough to pay off my card charges (an average of $500-$900) each month, negating any interest charges. My FICO is 824. I just received a letter from Barclay stating that because I do not use my credit limit of around $20K, they are lowering it to $5K. Ridiculous and unacceptable. I am penalized (a lower limit could negatively impact my credit rating) for being responsible. I contacted them, and they want me to reapply to reinstate the higher limit. No. I think I will use my AMEX gold card with no preset spending limit!Review from Peaches T

Beware of Barclay credit card as they do not stand up for their customers. I sent in all my supporting documents on dispute only to be told by the credit card they cannot assist me. My cis : CIS3053016. When I was making reservation online nowhere it stated a company's name K & T Bennett properties, we spoke to Janelle the owner of the property. This was the most horrible experience we had while staying at the property no water, light little to no wifi no cable. This company or host offered false or miss information at of this happened while grieving for mother. We had to resort elsewhere as could not stay at the location. We tried to resolve the issue with the merchant who was unwilling to compromise. Barclays on the other hand was no use as they agree with the merchant to stick a bill on me that I only spent off of my stay at. Obviously, Barclays is working against their customers with these merchants even with proof of a promised refund.Review from Bill H

Much to my surprise I received this card in the mail unexpectedly and unordered. I then called them immediately and told them that I never authorized the ordering of a jet blue card and I was then told of numerous charges in the thousands which was declined and canceled. Just today I received a letter informing me that my fraud claim was denied and that I now owed north of 700$. Once again I called to dispute and was told it would take up to a month for am appeal decision. I the notified the ftc where I explained my fraud victimization and got a reference # which I then passed on to them. My next step is to report this situation to my local sheriff's dept and send them the report to show that I mean business as far as expunging this fraudulent account in my name furthermore I have never flown jet blue nor do I have any intentions of ever doing so!Barclays Bank Delaware Response

Barclay is a terrible credit card company. I filed a claim against a merchant and Barclay at first promised me that they would fight to get my money back but never once did they call me with a status of my claim and after a while they ended up closing my claim without even telling me why!! They also gave me misinformation twice! Another terrible thing is that if you have less than $25 in rewards you cannot redeem it because they have a policy that it has to be $25 and above to redeem. Even if you plan on closing your account, you can’t redeem anything less than $25. So basically Barclay gets to keep your rewards. I tried very hard to fight them on this and told them that’s not right but at the end I wasn’t able to redeem my rewards cause it fell under $25. Terrible terrible company. I just finished paying off my credit card. I’m NEVER banking with them again.Barclays Bank Delaware Response

I'm paying on a Wyndham account through Barclay Bank. Within the first 6-7 months Barclay had and cashed bank checks and credit card charges of $2,500 to $3,000 that didn't show up on the monthly statements. It took me most of that time trying to get the people at Barclays to get through their heads that the moneys didn't appear. Most of their phone numbers go overseas and they only see the bill. I finally got mad and said I wanted a person in the USA. They sent me to a lady and she filed to investigate the matter. They did come back and somehow all of a sudden found all the money. I got only a letter saying they apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused. I worked on this matter on and off for months trying to get them to DO THEIR JOB RIGHT. They offered NO composition at all for what I did. I charge $500 an hour for doing others work and the time spent on this was roughly 50-54 hours which adds up to about $25,000 to $27,000 that I think I'm owed.Barclays Bank Delaware Response

From the Office of The President, Robin told me Barclays will not reimburse me for the fraud charge on my credit card for $2,200. The company that charged me is not providing any services to me or my company, and Barclays will not refund my money. Barclays said they reviewed the situation, Robin called me today and said she reviewed the situation but when I asked for her to tell me the something about the complaint she couldn't, she had to go look up my letters. Robin was not eager to help at all. Very disappointing that I have over 154k miles built up on this card, means I have used it a lot, and Barclays refuses to help in a situation where the merchant is not valid or doing any business with me.Barclays Bank Delaware Response

The Fraud department is a scam. My identity was stolen and no one from the Credit Card Company not even the fraud department helped in any way. After 7 months of going back and forth and 3 letters from the fraud department stating i did and then i did not owe them money my bill that was not mine was sent to collections and my credit card history that was spotless was ruined. I don't even own a credit card from Barclays. The staff that work there are useless and never answer the phone and when they do, they hang up on you. I suggest everyone with a complaint seek legal advice because they are scamming their customers. If i could i would rate them at a Zero star.Barclays Bank Delaware Response

Barclays will not help with a fraud payment on my credit card! I reported the situation within days of issue in May of this year, I am still getting the runaround in August. The amount of the charge is $2,200 for services that were not provided and are not provided now. The merchant just took the money and ran. Why won't Barclays take action? I have written two letters, supplied documentation, and have spoken to at least 10-12 different reps, even when escalated to management they clbk on a phone line you can't hear or understand what they are saying and then they hang up. I have documented six different calls from Barclays that I would like them to pull and review. There is no reason for Barclays to not refund my money. If you look at reviews of the company I tried to wrok with you will see similar payment fraud, why can't I get my money credited back?Review from Justin M

RE: Your JetBlue Plus Card MasterCard Case ID: CIS2985579 Dear Justin Mills, August 12, 2024 Thank you for notifying us of your billing dispute with ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISE in the amount of $1,633.86 on May 27, 2024 After careful review of all documents received regarding your dispute, we are unable to obtain credit on your behalf for the following reason(s): Merchant has not violated the terms and conditions of the contract. Services were rendered and the merchant is due payment Any further attempts to obtain credit must be pursued directly with the merchant. Your account is serviced by Barclays who reports account information to the four consumer reporting agencies. If the disputed amount has not been paid, it will remain as a discrepancy on your credit report. If you would like to dispute any discrepancies on your credit report, we ask you to contact one of the folowing consumer reporting agencies listed. I'm not sure how more clear I can be, I never went on this trip as I was in Puerto Rico the same time, this trip was supposed to be a 24hour hold purchasebut instead charged me the full amount and rotal Caribbean won't give me a refund and neither will Barclay's. Barclay's also is on a recorded line telling me not to worry no matter what happens I will be refunded and I'm not liable but instead sent me this letter after. I want my $1633.86 back on my account.
