              I contacted Unum mid Jan 2024 and again 1/31/24 where I was informed the information I was previously provided (earlier in Jan)was incorrect and the payment of $58 sent had been applied to the wrong policy and was the wrong amount. I was informed the amount would be applied to the correct policy (short term) as I was canceling out the other(life). I was informed I could wait for the check from which I would recieve for canceling the life policy to pay short term to make it current as the amount was $462.52 after the $58 was applied, which I did. Check recieved mid Feb and payment made back to Unum mid Feb I called 3/19/24 because I had not received a bill and was informed the policy was canceled due to no payment being made by 2/1/24. After looking through the account they confirmed the events/ information then apologized for me being misinformed. They stated the person I spoke on with on 1/31/24 was instructed to call me on 2/1/24 to correct her information in which they say she left I voice-mail. I did not get a voice-mail and now am being informed there is nothing that can be done but issue me a check for $462.52 despite me doing everything I was instructed by the company. I would like them to honor my policy or pay me the estimated $6500.00 I would recieve over the course of 3 months upon a short term leave being used.

              Unum is terrible. The benefits specialists do not update your claim until you initiate a call for status. They put the same generic letter stating still waiting on medical documentation. My doctor and myself submitted everything as requested and timely. They still denied claim stating they do not feel my condition is considered disable. I was on a temporary reduced schedule 20 hrs vs. 40 . Only needed the reduced time for 3 months. I was just trying to get compensated for the missed 20hours ?? What’s the point of having disability ins if you are not going to be covered when needed. I will be getting an attorney to help
