This law office is an absolute joke. They take your money and do nothing to actually help their clients. Then they ask for more money after 120 days of doing absolutely nothing for your case.Sterling Lawyers, LLC Response

wanted to share my recent experiences with your firm, as I believe open communication is crucial for a successful client-attorney relationship.Initially, I was informed by ******* that a payment of $400 was required for representation as my case was approaching on November 30th. Despite repeated calls and email checks, I faced challenges in obtaining information until I left multiple voicemails. Moreover, there was a delay of 15 to 20 minutes in my appointment, for which I was assured a refund. However, after meeting with *********************************, concerns arose within the first five minutes as she expressed a pessimistic view about my ability to see my children again. The discussion took an unsettling turn when she questioned the children's GAL's competence and inquired about my mental health, treating me with an unexpected level of skepticism. As a civil rights activist and a first amendment auditor, I felt unfairly judged, especially given my current circumstances with a child battling leukemia. Every dollar is crucial, and it is disheartening to feel that the firm is solely motivated by financial gains.Despite not signing any formal agreement, I've encountered resistance to a refund, which seems unreasonable given the limited scope of our discussions. I believe in a fair and compassionate approach to legal matters and hope we can address these concerns to ensure a more positive and constructive path forward.Sincerely,*********************************Sterling Lawyers, LLC Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Open and transparent communication is indeed fundamental to the client-attorney relationship, and we are sorry to hear that your experience did not reflect the high standard of service we aim to deliver. At Sterling Lawyers, we are dedicated to improving the legal services we provide and deeply value each client's unique situation. It is concerning that you felt unheard and unfairly judged, and for that, we sincerely apologize. We understand the personal importance of your case, especially given the sensitive nature of your circumstances involving your children's health. Compassion and understanding are at the heart of what we do, and we regret that our approach did not meet your expectations in this instance. A full refund has been provided. We appreciate your feedback, as it is critical for us in making necessary improvements to better serve our clients and ensure that they feel valued and are fairly treated. We wish you the very best in resolving your family legal matters.Review from Sonja M

I would give zero stars if I could. Because they did absolutely zero. No guidance, certain topics never visited, discussed or filed. Being strung along longer and longer with nothing happening so they could charge me for additional "phases". I had to bail when they asked me for another 10k. ***** already being 13k in and realizing what was going on. This firm is a joke.Sterling Lawyers, LLC Response

Do not trust this firm. They are essentially a sign and settle firm, but for divorce cases. Attorneys are unprofessional and do not return calls or phone calls. Sterling was supposed to assist me in the custody/placement case of my daughter, but they essentially allowed the opposition of my case to do whatever they wanted and left me feeling violated. Sterling essentially took my money and then demanded more for not doing anything to represent me. I think a chimp in a suit could have done a better job. Do not trust this firm.Sterling Lawyers, LLC Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are very sorry that we did not meet your expectations. Here at Sterling Lawyers, we are passionate about providing caring and effective legal services for families. Our lawyers try hard to respond quickly, act professionally, and strongly represent our clients. We are very concerned to hear that you felt unsupported and disrespected. This does not match our mission and values at all. We will definitely think about this feedback and look for ways to improve how we communicate with clients and represent them, especially in tough custody cases like yours. While we can't change the past, we want to assure you that your experience does not reflect our normal standards. We remain dedicated to serving each client with care and excellence. Thank you again for your honesty - it will help us improve. Attorney Jeff Hughes | CEO & Co-founder of Sterling Lawyers, LLCReview from Tunisia G

I went to Sterling Law Office in ********* and Jeff ******* was supposed to represent me in a court case for a divorce. I paid the law office $14,000 and asked them to file paperwork to see my daughter. The law firm then asked for $5,000 more dollars after doing no paperwork and not answering emails or calls prior to asking for the money. When I told them no they dropped my case and kept my $14,000Sterling Lawyers, LLC Response

Think very carefully about embracing their flat, up-front fee per number of days contract. It sounds appetizing, until the attorney offers very little guidance, doesn't give feedback when specifically asked for it, needs to be emailed twice to get a response, doesn't show up to scheduled appointments, and then hands you off to a junior attorney with two years of experience. Half the time I am not sure my emails were even read in their entireties. I ended the contract a month early, settlement papers were never drafted (because my husband refused to cooperate), and was still refused any kind of refund. I should have walked away much earlier but probably still would not have received a refund. I now have a competent attorney (different firm) at $350 an HOUR with a cheaper hourly rate for paralegal work. In the list of "accounting" that I received from Sterling, five or six of the actions could have been completed in an hour or by a paralegal. I shutter to think how much of an hourly rate I actually paid. They don't provide you with an accounting of time, only a list of actions and in my case, some actions that were not ever performed, like the review of my financial affidavit. It's hard for you to review a financial affidavit when I ended the contract before completing one. Divorce is stressful enough. Having to be under the time clock of a flat-fee structure made it so much more stressful. There was no way I was going to give them another $11,000.Sterling Lawyers, LLC Response

I hired a attorney from Sterling Law Offices in March 2021. I was led on by said attorney that my divorce would be over in 6 months. I rarely heard from him, his answers were very vague when we did talk, and I Always felt like I was in the dark. They Operate in 3 phases, by phase3, your finances will be drained and you will have gotten no where. Be cautious when dealing with this firm.Sterling Lawyers, LLC Response

Your feedback is vital to us, and we appreciate you sharing your experience with Sterling Lawyers. We acknowledge your concerns and regret that our services weren't up to your expectations. Our central goal is to continuously enhance our family legal services for clients’ benefits and foster transparency and open communication. We are disheartened that in your case, we appear to have fallen short of this commitment. Clear communication is a cornerstone of our service, and feeling left in the dark is not the experience we strive for our clients to have. It simply isn't reflective of the values we set for ourselves at Sterling Lawyers. We apologize if the explanation regarding the three-phase approach wasn’t clear. This is certainly something we will seek to clarify in the future. Although we regret any inconvenience and confusion you might have faced, we appreciate the trust you placed in our firm. We recognize that we can always improve, and this would not be possible without your feedback. Thank you, and rest assured that your comments will contribute to delivering better services in the future. Attorney Jeff Hughes | CEO & Co-founder of Sterling Lawyers, LLCReview from Patrick B.

I came across this Law firm based upon word of mouth from others that have used the help of appointed attorneys for divorce, a specific attorney by the name of ****** was appointed to my case in which I asked for his services because I was told he does great work and he's affordable. The hole time of him on my case I believe we spoke on the phone maybe handful of times in few months he handled my case not only could I never get him on the phone his responses were either late at night or first thing in the morning, when I reached out to discuss my case he was always busy supposedly on vacation twice one of which he was supposedly out of country, not only did I pay for him to represent me but I feel because being a male he bit off more than he could handle and it's sad because I paid money I do not have because this divorce has drained me dry and not only did he take my money but he also made things in my divorce more complicated he went as far to tell my ex's attorney that the reason we can not come to an agreement on things is because he can't get in touch with me and I do have those emails to prove if you would like but than it came to a divorce hearing over zoom and instead of Representation he went straight to the judge and said I want off this case in which the judge denied and Mr. ******* had to stay on my case not knowing he would force me to pay obligations set upon someone else's actions.....I truly feel this a source of malpractice because he never agreed with anything I said he was never around to answer my questions he wanted me to settle on the first agreement terms set by my ex and her attorney but i had other ideas and questions i wanted to share with ****** but could not reach him nor did he want to listen to anything i had to say he gave up on my case for this simple fact of me being a male and he is use to female representation.

Sterling law was representing me in a family court situation. Rules were laid out in court. The opposing party was in contempt, and when I informed my attorney about this, he told me, she can get away with it. Since it was a one time thing, it probably won't happen again. When it is a season long impact on our family. His boss told me, they can't do anything about it, unless I bring it to them, and they charge me more. I'm not paying them so they can find out ways to take more money from me. Horribly disgusted in their business conduct, and wouldn't want anyone to get scammed out of their hard earned money in this horrible economic time in the world.Sterling Lawyers, LLC Response
