Twin Rivers Improvement installed Durolast roof membranes on the low slope rear entry roofs of my home in Nov/Dec **** for $1,380. One roof had leaking issues around all seven railing post boots for years in which Twin Rivers was called back multiple times from 2005-2013 to remedy. We assumed the issues were fixed until fall 2021 when multiple, large soft spots were found on the roof as well as a sunken door frame below. I had **** at Twin Rivers stop over to inform him of the issues and give us a quote on replacing the aging roof membranes. I inspected several areas and found negligent installation and damage during repairs caused water to leak inside the home for likely 8 up to 17 years. Mold was suspected and testing confirmed the walls and ceilings harbored large amounts of toxic molds. Mold spores and hyphae were found in every room of the home and mold found growing on belongings in the basement. This extensive toxic mold gives clarity to the deteriorating health of the two occupants. Upon demolition of two roofs and three affected rooms below, extensive mold, rot and deterioration were found on 6 walls, 3 ceilings, 2 floors, 2 stairways and 2 foundation corners. One wall is damaged so extensively that the top 50% of the shiplap boards and studs are completely rotten through and portions missing completely - supported only by the siding, lathe and plaster. I got **** to stop over and witness the damages multiple times. **** inspected and confirmed the negligent installation and repairs, viewed the extent of the damage but refused to honor any roof replacement, repairs to the building, assistance or recompense. **** was willing to submit several increasing and exorbitant estimates to replace the Durolast roofs. The homeowners have spent six months on demolition, mold and rot removal, mold remediation, structural repairs, roofing installation, etc. and are continuing efforts to complete the repairs and move on to mold remediation of the rest of the home.
