Wish I could attach photos here. I ordered a house through Bay Area Homes, Bay Area Properties in Abrams WI and WI Homes Marshfield company was the manufacturer. It was all an absolute nightmare since I put money down. I now know why I was not allowed a pre-inspection before delivery. (I insisted so they refused to deliver my home for over a month and I still never got a pre-inspection) I was informed that "all plumbing and electrical is stubbed through the floor to the basement". They purposefully neglect to tell you NOTHING IS COMPLETED FROM THE SECOND FLOOR! I was informed by BAH that I was the general contractor (I am a nurse) and they play games when you ask them who does what, repeatedly. You have to comb through the ENTIRE HOUSE to figure out what was done and what wasn't (at your own expense, remember). I agreed I am responsible for all my basement items. BUT on and in the HOUSE: Some lights are just wires, some fixtures are hanging sideways by wires, some trim is just hanging out, hundreds of wires are not even connected. Ductwork is not even completed on 2nd floor, plumbing is not completed nor does it even MATCH up, some pvc pipe faces a solid board with NO PIPE at all. Hot and cold pipes were DIRECTLY connected without a connection to the rest. There are tons of super split boards that are in the framing. Whomever nailed the trim could not even nail normally--some boards have none, some have a triangle of three nails in a tiny spot and no where else. Gobs of dried drywall are all over-no way I can finish flooring or painting with this everywhere nor get this scraped off the pine board ceiling. Big dents in the pine ceiling boards in the cathedral tongue and groove ceiling. The fireplace stones are done so badly (not varied in color or shape in some rows) have mortar all over them and imprints from wire or something pulled off of them after drying? (obviously not part of the manufacturing??) My own contractors had to do extensive work to get anything to even match up for wiring, ductwork, plumbing, lights, and much more. The house walls do not even match up so I have no idea how they will finish this on site. BAH state they have 60 days from the set to even finish anything although they led me to believe it was small things and that I could get in to paint and do flooring (nope). They didn't even show up for over a week straight. There are huge bolts in the way of the basement ductwork, chunks of concrete missing from my basement when they poorly set the home. No screens delivered for my walkout door and windows ("it is probably around here somewhere"). Broken corner of countertop. No exterior lock for the patio door on the walkout wall, ("must not have come with one"), wrong color the the siding boxes for lights, damaged window edges for the extra windows I paid for ("not our fault"). Huge gaps between the door and trim--you can see right through it with the door closed. They will NOT DEAL with you direct but refer EVERYTHING to the builder and just say they will submit a warranty list, but you never get a walkthrough and there is a legal TIME LMIT FOR THE LIST they will not tell you about (hoping you miss the deadline?) Siding was damaged and J channels broken but used anyway. I have a ton of photos of all of this, if you want to contact me for more information.
