Yesterday, for a second time, I entered the Butler Surveying office in ******** to inquire if the documentation of a survey paid for and carried out on my property four years ago has finally been prepared and recorded with the County. His receptionist quickly located a file and took it to Mr. ******************** in a back room. When she returned to the counter and informed me that the documentation was never completed, I mentioned that this is the same response I received upon my initial request nearly four years ago. Immediately upon overhearing my statement to his receptionist, Mr. ******************** emerged from the back room, confronted me, and accused me of arguing with his receptionist, which is completely untrue. I was not arguing. Mr. ******************** proceeded to say that I had no business coming into his office without first calling him, ostensibly so he could have prepared his excuses for why the survey documents had never been completed or recorded after all this time. Mr. ******************** then asked me why I was there. When I explained that there was a possible question from my neighbor about the correctness of the markings his crew installed (and which I recently used as property boundaries during fence installations), Mr. ******************** stated that the markers his company installed were not to be considered as any more reliable than online ***** County parcel maps, ****** maps, or *********. Mr. ******************** stated that the failure to complete the survey documents and recording was not his failure, but that of the previous owner of my property, any reason for which remained unstated to me at the time. He concluded the encounter by telling me to come back tomorrow.
