Jornada roofing installed the roof on our house 5 yrs ago for a local custom home builder. We started experiencing some leaking in the middle of our dinning room after some heavy rain. I called the home builder and asked who installed the roof and was told Jornada. I had Jornada come out and take a look at the leaking roof and didn't tell them they installed the roof. I also had some other roofing companies come and bid it as well and let me know what they thought caused the leak. After I got the bid from Jornada I called and asked Jornada what the warranty was on the repair "no warrant" not really surprised, I then asked what if you installed it "I don't know, I need to call the owner" I didn't get a call back so I called the next day and got the same response. Next thing I know I have one of the owners (Romael) at my house wanting to take a look. I asked him what the warranty was and he said "it doesn't matter we're going to take care of you" he looked at it and said there had been an issue with how the down spouts had been positioned and that I had probably already fixed it with the fix I made to the down spout "but to let them know if there were any other issues". So this was only one of the issues that had caused the roofing to fail and call me crazy but I feel like a roof should last more than 5 years. So I called the Jornada office the next week after another rain and our ceiling still leaking and said I would like to get this fixed and wanted to know what we would be responsible for. I was told they would need to talk with the principle owner (***). I received a call the next day letting me know that it wasn't under warranty and I would need to pay them if they were to fix it. So let me get this straight you guys did a crappy job installing my roof and now you want more money to make it right? I mentioned some of the issues like there was no rain/ice barrier was used in a high shed water area. This is what I was told by the office lady "it's not required by code" ok, so.....you're the type of company that does the bare minimum that you're required to? People spend 10s of thousands of dollars on roofs only to have them leak 5 years later and need to be redone and your excuse is we're not required to do it? I'm not sure that what your customers want. Anyways other issues with their install with the flashing and shingles, these guys offer a 1 year warranty on their roof jobs and I can see why now, pretty clear that since no one knows in the office what the warranty is they never honor it.
