I have used CHS for two years. The first years service was fine, a little slow for delivery but nothing to complain about. This last year they have changed some policies at the corporate level and it is causing major issues for delivery (3+ weeks delay) and billing (fraudulent charges). Our tank level is remotely monitored by CHS and they are supposed to automatically fill the tank and charge when it gets low, which worked great the first year, it never dropped below 20%. The second year the tank has run empty twice was empty and took 3 weeks before they refilled the tank. Lots of excuses from the local manager blaming CHS company policies, manpower, weather, etc. After waiting over 3 weeks without propane I had my tank filled and then I was contacted 2 months later when I was due for my another refill and they informed me they would not be delivering propane because they said my last "prepaid" fill wasn't billed properly and they didn't charge me enough and there was an additional $150 owing. Its unclear where the extra charge came from and they were unable to explain, when I told them I wouldn't not be continuing service and contacting the BBB, but they did say they found an error on the billing relating to the price of the propane and they would drop the charge to $50. It all seemed fishy and bordered on what appeared to be a scam. I have registered a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Not very professional business practices going on at CHS, I would avoid this company if you expect the services that you pay for to be provided.
