We got a quote from Approved remodeling - *********************** and proceeded to work with him on expanding our property. He said the first steps was to get an architectural drawing which he could help us procure based on our discussion and the vision we came up with him of our home. It was in 2020. Several months later we contacted him and he used COVID as an excuse for things not being done. I had twins and we lost one of our babies and have been depressed and could not follow up with **** and he did not contact us either. When I finally contacted him. He said he lost a grandmother and need to go to ****** and will contact us upon return. He did not. I contacted again and this time he said the person doing the drawing is sick. Next he said he submitted it to the city to get the permit approved on our behalf. We checked, there was nothing filed with the city of ***** Next he told us it was denied by the city because they need the land to ********** of the property and he is working on someone to come out to survey it. He made an appointment with us and never showed up. Next he told us he was exposed and had COVID and would be away for 2 weeks. Then he told us he would have the architect email us the drawing. I did not receive anything and he has since. I truly believed he was working on this and his extenuating circumstances combined with mine made it difficult for things to be done. Now that he has blocked my number. I no longer believe he has our best interest at heart. On his contract it states that if the contractor is negligent, improper or in breach of contract, there is a state bond or deposit for satisfying claims against a contractor. Please advise on how to proceed I would like to receive our money back or the actual drawings we paid for so we can hire a different company if we can ever trust one again. We literally received nothing of what he said he would do. He also refused to connect me with the architect. We paid him $5640.00
