    I checked into the Best Western on 6/5 and was exposed to mold in two bedrooms and then *charged* an extra $150 for "deep cleaning" in addition to the room charges. I did early check-in and left shortly after for a wedding. That night, after I returned, I didn't notice it right away, I just found my heart racing as I kept trying to fall asleep and when I started looking around, I found mold in the bathroom. I called the front desk, who came up and walked into the bathroom and saw the mold themselves, thanked me for pointing it out, and agreed to move me to another room. It existed in multiple places in the bathroom on the ceiling.It was late and I moved rooms, so I took a sleep aid which should knock me out for the night. Instead 2 hours later, I was awake again, feeling ill and coughing. There was a less significant mold problem in that room, which was around the air vent in the bathroom. I indicated this to the front desk, who relocated me to their first non-mold room on the 2nd story. This room was fine. I finally got sleep.As I was checking out, I replayed previous night's experience for the front desk and asked if there was some kind of discount I'd get for being given an unhealthy room to sleep in, exposed to mold twice and having to switch rooms. I gave my contact information and received no call back.Instead, I was *very* surprised to see that I was charged an *extra $150* for "deep cleaning." I didn't sleep in the first room, didn't use the bathroom or even unpack in the second room, just walked in with my PJs and laid down. The third room, I slept in like normal. Given the experience, being charged for mold exposure and having to move and calling it "deep cleaning" is mind bending.I received one email response saying they'd get back to me. They've since ghosted. The manager **** has not responded to emails or calls. I spoke with with ***** at the hotel on 6/13 who hung on me after telling me to get my act together.
