I'm not sure of this company after reading similar reviews. My 90 year old mom kept getting bills from them despite having provided both ******** and BCBS info when admitted to hospital. Had to spend many calls to representatives in *****(kept getting dropped) to try to get them to bill proper insurance companies. I believe that they purposely don't send in claims to insurance companies and instead try to bill customers first hoping the elderly will pay instead.Review from Chester N

Billing practices are horrific. Check the BBB complaints on this physician group - this situation happens over and over and over. We just received a bill from collections agency on behalf of *********************** for $43.34 based on an emergency room visit from June 2019. It seems Sound Physicians would rather receive some payment by selling their accounts payable, than spending time sending bills to the patients and giving them a chance to pay. We NEVER received a bill for services from this group. I could only track the legitimacy of the claim by going back over 4 years of insurance payments. I understand the miniscule amount of money involved; its the thought of having a debt in collections and how that *** affect our credit when we always pay our bills on time.Review from Florence L

I have been billed by Sound Physicians of 1196$ on my insurance for my emergency check when we had a vehicular accident and sending me email to pay some more balance. I thought it was the drivers insurance. After few days the hospital bills me and I asked them about Sound Physicians if they are with contract with them. They said no. They have their own billing and the drivers insurance wasn't under this company as well. The hospital billed me on my insurance again. I hope Sound Physicians should stop. They are preying on people. Its a shame that being new in this country that we experience from such kinds of people and business.Sound Physicians Response

I got a bill 3 months after having surgery. The bill said it had tried to file on my insurance, but the companies listed were not correct. They wanted me to go online and update my insurance info. I called the hospital and they had not heard of the doctor listed on the bill. In addition, they said I had no outstanding charges. I called my insurance, and they called the number listed on the bill. The person who answered was foreign, (Indian I think) and he had no information on the Doctor, or any contact information for Him. My insurance representative said this was most probably a scam and that if they received a bill, it would be flagged. I googled the Dr. and a phone number was listed. When I called it, it was a local hospital who had never heard of the Dr. on the bill. It was not the hospital where I was admitted. I decided to disregard the bill. About a month later I received an additional bill, identical to the first one. It seems that Sound Physicians and ******************************* with ****************** of ***** (based in PA) is a scam preying on seniors who recently were admitted to any hospital for any reason. I went to the ** by ambulance and was admitted overnight. The hospital Dr. **** in the next day around 12:00. I was diagnosed with ****** Disease and was in a very bad way. Dr. was very rude and did not want to listen to what I was saying. He then Balanced Billed me for $600 over what my insurance covered. He broke the law because of the Surprise Billing Act. My insurance had to file a claim on him and I was billed by Sound Physicians.Review from David B

I got a bill after a emergency room visit for a portion of my medical bills, the rest paid by ********* I sent a check at the time. Yesterday I got another bill again for the same treatment. Sometimes is not right. Where can I report this issue?Review from Phillip P

I received a bill last November, for an ER visit in August 2021. They had not submitted it to my insurance for payment. After multiple phone calls, I was finally able to speak to somebody to give them my insurance information. This company filed multiple claims for the same services, at the highest billing codes. Insurance pushed back and lowered the claim amount. Here we are in November of 2022 and I received a bill for an unpaid balance. I go into my insurance portal, and there are the two original duplicate claims and the one with a lowered negotiated amount. The provider was in - network and was paid the insurance rate, with my portion showing as Zero. I called insurance today and they said I owe nothing and they will work with this ****** to resolve. It seems to me that they are double billing the insurance and the patient, so when will they be stopped? If you call their billing number, the voice prompt has a message asking if you are an attorney, so they can redirect you to a different number, so that says something.Review from Rick T.

The keep billing me for stuff my ******** pays for. It's a scam! They take advantage of poor people, they know I can't pay, especially with the rising cost of everything in this **** country at the moment!! I don't even know how I got messed up with them in the first place except that both times I went to ************************* in ********, ** (which I also DON'T recommend, they're horrible and misdiagnosed me several times before I switched to St. ********* and got REAL answers)Review from Bob J

As with many others below, I am finding South Sound Physicians billing practices a sham and predatory. As a ******** patient I had knee replacement surgery last year. All was well and billing for the hospital, physicians and PT follow up appeared to be taken care of (including some co-pays that I happily made for services rendered ) when six months after the surgery South Sound sent me a **** and demanded immediate payment. In looking at their paperwork, I found that they never billed ******** even though they claimed they did and they claimed to have billed secondary insurance, but it was the wrong company!I sent a detailed letter noting the billing errors and assuring them I would pay for what ******** and my supplemental did not cover once they fulfilled their obligation to correctly **** ******** and my correct Medigap provider. After several months they sent another billing notice with revised billing dates and said they had Now billed both ******** and the Supplemental plan and demanded immediate payment from me. Well they still have the supplemental insurance wrong and neither ******** nor my actual supplemental provider has received a **** for the services allegedly provided.I believe these guys are sending these sham bills hoping the patients do not know their rights will just pay 100% of the **** in cash instead of the balance after insurance coverage.In researching my ******** rights I have also found that a physician who chooses to opt out of ********, as these folks seem to have done, MUST notify that patient in writing and have a signed understanding of same. I have never signed such an agreement with South Sound, nor did I even know who they were until receiving the egregious ****.I give them the least stars possible and wish I could color it red, for extreme warning to anyone coming across this organization.
