I hired Bob Walters Builders in July to build a 36'x30' Garage and put a 50% deposit down on the job. I trusted the owner as he bragged about his reputation as a premier contractor.....couldn't have been further from the truth!!!:-He went to pull the permit and he was informed that the building was not permittable as planned. He failed to let me know and as a result I spent $3,500 to excavate the area as he requested only to have to do it again -Due to no progress and communications breaking down, left me with no choice than to ask for my deposit back so I could hire another contractor to finish the job. I requested my deposit back last September as there had been no movement on starting the job and little to no communication from *****. ***** agreed to refund my 25K however failed to send me a check back and stated he could have it done in a couple weeks. I instructed him to finish the job as I could clearly see I wouldn't be getting my money back without a court battle!.-Strung me out till late November and finally put the shell up with no Garage doors, all along requesting more money. .-The shell of the garage was put up however not as contracted! Called for Vinyl siding with OSB backer. He ended up installing Steel siding directly on 2x4s studs and support poles. -He informed me in late November the garage doors were going to be installed next week, however next week would never come. -On December 21st I was forced to hire a company to finish the job as ***** stated "I don't blame you for moving on" and had the nerve to tell me he would be sending me a bill with any balance left?FYI....wouldn't let me leave a No Star rating.Buyer beware, don't trust this company!!!

The good: Good pole barn construction, good garage doors, service door, siding, cement, roof and windows. I was surprised that they were all contracted out to other providers except the service *************** but they are all well done. . The not so good: Permit expired before beginning project despite putting 50%. down. Covered up several split boards so as not to draw attention to them. Aw, thatll be just fine, dont worry, Doesnt communicate unless contacted first. Many commitments made to start and was a no-show 5 times. Left framing materials on site from early December to April, shoots from the hip / not very respectful to a noob who made a few mistakes. Wanted completion payment before final township inspection sign off, big rush for payment despite my waiting 8 months to complete.
