The owner died and his greedy family closed the company without warning. There are numerous clients with unfinished jobs and Doug Y.'s family has elected to keep our money. Tens of thousands of dollars gone with zero contact from these people. Their lawyers circled the wagons and clearly the widow is protecting herself while leaving the clients to deal with the mess left behind. This family is greedy and they're nothing, but thieves.

Worked well with the crew. The company met our expectations and more. We continue to be pleased with any post renovation follow ups.

      ******* and ******,

Thank you for the kind review. Yours was a large project with many moving parts and it came together beautifully, if I do say so myself!

You two were terrific to work with and we would be happy to help you with any future projects you may need.

      Regards,

      Doug Y.

Awful, do not recommend. Job took six months rather then the three months we were told it would take. Many add ones that he said he forgot to add to the quote, like painting the inside and outside of the new room he built onto our house or additional outlets needed for code. Failed numerous jnspections sometimes more then once.

Mr. & Mrs. ****** are correct and we understand their frustration. It is always our goal to provide excellent and timely service. Unfortunately, their project took longer than anticipated due to supply chain issues related to Covid, doors were delayed, windows came in from the supplier damaged, etc. We did our best to communicate with them and keep the job moving as quickly as possible, however, we acknowledge that we did not live up to our normal high standards. We provide a detailed proposal and it was clear that painting was not on that proposal. Nevertheless, since it was our error, we provided the service at cost with no profit or overhead. We truly appreciate all of our clients and are very sorry that our interaction was less than satisfactory.

You are right the painting was not in the extremely large detailed proposal, however we talked about the painting before we signed the contract. We discussed colors, the painter came measured the room inside and measured the new outside dimensions and asked if we had sample colors. It wasn't until the painter started that he tells us "I forgot to add the $2800 for the painting in the contract." And how did COVID cause an extra $1000 in electrical outlets! He asked us how many outlets we wanted, we said one on each wall. We were told after the project started, code requires one every 6 feet. How did he not know this if he has been building for years? We contracted for bat type insulation, we come home and find he used spray insulation which is much more expensive. First he claimed it was in his contract, we showed him it wasn't, he then wanted us to sign a change of order form saying we asked for the changes, we didn't and refused to sign it. To get the project moving along we agreed to split the cost. Is he going to blame COVID for never ordering the pavers which we constantly reminded him about. When it was time to use the pavers, it was a 5 month back order. I had to find different pavers that were in stock. Let's talk about the doors he claims were late due to COVID. The doors had not arrived, he first wanted full payment minus some money for the doors. We said no, nothing more until the doors were put in. All of a sudden the doors arrived, surprisingly they did not fit. They were too big. His carpenter had to take to them apart. He took the glass out and reframed it by hand. Then we are told the doors did not come with handles so that would be extra.

Let's talk about the fact he never passed a single inspection the first time. Sometimes the inspectors had to come multiple times until he passed. Meanwhile he could not do any new work until the completed work passed. The inspectors were getting so angry that we were told they were going to charge him extra money and that he noted for failing inspections. How can a competent builder fail an inspection 3-4 times.

He claims he made no money on the project, but we had gotten several bids for this project, they all came in around the same price. I chose him because I liked him, boy was I fooled, by the end of the project with all his extra money he wanted, his final payment was well above every other bid we had gotten.
