      I recently ordered a replacement seat cover (Part # 68-6945) for my '82 XS650 Special. Prior to placing my order, a representative for the company told me that 'it is one of the easiest on the list as far as projects go' and 'it is essentially just stretching over the seat and stapling or bolting down the inseams'. The rep sent me a couple of YouTube links for installation. When I received the seat cover I noticed the 'inseams' barely made it up and over the edges of the steel stock seat pan. To remove the original seat cover one must unhook the inseam from the die-cut triangle fasteners. There is not a way to attach the replacement seat cover with staples or bolts. The inseams are not lengthy enough to be attached in the original design either. If one tries stretching it to fit the sewn seams begin to rip the vinyl and ultimately it can tear a hole all the way through as it did in my case. I promptly contacted Mikes customer service (email) and notified them of the issue. I provided them with a photo of the torn cover, I explained that it could not be installed as described, and I initially requested a return & refund. They explained that they do not process returns for damaged items. I replied with more information about the misfitting situation details and requested an exchange for a different less expensive seat cover (Part # 200-2505). The reply I received stated that they would not make the exchange and that I should have had it professionally installed. I sent a final reply expressing my now doubled disappointment. If you are considering a DIY project with these seat covers you should be prepared to do so at your own risk. I do not recommend these seat covers and my personal experience with Mikes customer service leads me not to recommend them to friends as a company.

      Hello,

      We have received the emails in regards to the torn seat cover by the customer. As stated in return emails to the customer, the seat cover was incorrectly purchased and was not for his model motorcycle. This was explained in multiple emails, to why we would not be able to accept it back as it was not an error in the seat cover, it was an error during purchasing when the incorrect seat cover was selected. The seat cover was then damaged after noting it was visibly smaller than the original. We did not receive any emails about the seat cover being to small until it had be torn.

I attempted to install that seat cover on my **** ****** ***** and in doing so the vinyl fabric failed.       Absolutely terrible management, I paid $71 for next day shipping, it has been 4 days with nothing at my door, they never shared my ups packages tracking number with me, every attempt I make to contact them via phone or email has been left without a response, I can’t even see where my package is, I even called there store in Tampa but each time I get send to voice mail

      Unfortunately, do to Hurricane ******, we have been closed for a couple days. Which did cause a delay in package shipments and customer responses. Today 8/31 is the first day back in operation and all shipments will resume as normal. We do apologize for the delay.

      Ordered 4 Carburetor Kit -******** - 1979 - Premium SKU: ********. Fought the bike for 6 months trying everything to get it to run, spending thousands of dollars chasing down an issue that was caused by them selling a kit that has the wrong size main jets in it and jet needles that are 2mm too short! When I let them know about the kits having the wrong parts in them, all they can say is "they're aftermarket so the tuning process is different" ***?! They were not willing to do anything to fix the situation so no, I don't recommend them
