I contacted the Lutz phone, but no answer. A few short minutes later someone called me saying name was ******* and got missed call. I stated that I wanted get information and an estimate to replace a garage door opener. I was given info that they donot carry Genie or recommend and given broad price range for Chamberlain opener. He said price can range up to $900 depending on opener and can get better estimate if can come onsite. I clearly said I had limited time and was getting estimates from other companies. He made an appt for Tues. 7/13 at 2:30 said either he or John would be coming. John came and already had garage door opened, of course asked if my garage door was "hurricane rated" and clearly said only needed to replace the opener, he then looked at door without my asking said it appeared level and in good condition. After giving me a price, he said he had call "the owner" as he was scheduled to do the install and was told I was planning to replace the door
he had the 1)2 HP Chamberlain models already in his truck. When asked for him to write estimate down and warranty, model info. as still had one more estimate and never said I wanted to replace today with owner.
He then contacted the owner and told me he had to charge me a "service fee of $45". I clearly told him that there was never a request for service and I clearly stated estimate with *******. In addition, never in my discussion with ******* did he ever mention a fee for an estimate. I called the owner as I asked John to write on my estimate "service fee waived, customer not told" he instead wrote service fee not paid. I spoke to ******* and he said he would bill me and lied stating he told me about the fee. The Bayside Garage website clearly states they provide "free estimates". Other company is not charging me for an estimate either. This is arm twisting sales without any authorization or service
