My complaint: I'm unhappy with the manner in which the transaction occurred. o I feel the Dealer was not promptly forthcoming with written documentation prior to closing the sale. Had to ask 4 times. o The Dealer did not offer an opportunity for the me to reconcile the differences in the pre-sale agreement with the final closing documents. o The Dealer instead relied on a high-tech 48” monitor screen awkwardly positioned atop the finance manager’s deck at a reading angle that is uncomfortable for most, especially a novice buyer, presumably to put the buyer at a further disadvantage. o The Dealer charged me $399 for window tinting the Dealer did not provide. o The Dealer did not communicate in good faith in a reasonable time period following my submission of discrepancies in the final sales and financing numbers. o I acknowledge my complicity in the matter caused my lack of insistence on transparency, demand for hard copies of all documents prior to signatures and assertions of control over the pace at which the video contractual process proceeded. o I believe my failures were predictable in certain buyer populations, i.e. elderly, first-time buyers, non-English speaking persons; thus, the Dealer’s processes, if not deliberately designed to take advantage of that, were nevertheless used to unfairly achieve an outcome more favorable to the dealer than the consumer. I bought a beautiful 2024 Honda Pilot but I was lied to and gaslit the whole way through. Of course I take blame for not leaving or questioning them more. I also dont think signing documents with promises and pointing out numbers that dont mean what they mean is honest or ethical. When I called to ask about why I got nothing I was promised then manager ***** told me the reason I dont get what I want is because I interrupt him and I am at fault even though I should be angry and they are only human but also I am too angry and I should be happy with their calls without any action to correct their lies. He told me I was confused not lied to. That the things that I didnt get were simple errors and he thought I was ok with them. No matter what I said nice or angry I always was left feeling I was the one who needed to apologize for having an 80 k loan for a 55 k car. It is criminal in my opinion and I should be angry and they should make it right not blame the customer. I can only hope others read this and simply buy your Honda somewhere else. Dont fall for the smiles and pretend gifts they throw your way.Review from Kevin C

I went to Honda of Sarasota thru the *******************. The salesman, sales manager and Finance representative were polite and friendly. Friendly doesnt always mean truthful and honest. I road tested a **** Ridgeline, The sales manager repeatedly showed me multiple prices on slips of paper. When I agreed to purchase, I asked for a detailed itemized invoice of the full costs. I asked the *************************** finance rep multiple times over the course of a few weeks. I never received this.When I picked up the vehicle, I also asked for the details. I was shown a note with a Market Adjustment $4,995 which I refused to pay. Dealers had stopped this by late 2023. The Finance rep gave me a credit "We Owe" for this to be sent to me. This was credited to my Honda Loan a week later. I never received pricing details from the dealership. I called Honda Finance Customer ****. When I asked, it was emailed a copy 15 minutes after the call. The contract was marked Customer Copy. A list of added services with approx. $12K in third party items e.g. wheel and glass protection, maintenance, Road hazard, etc. was listed. I neither asked for nor these nor were they discussed with me at the time of sale.On my third trip to the dealership about these items, a Finance rep contacted the company and had them cancelled, with a 46-week time for credit to my vehicle loan with Honda.I contacted ******************* Cust **** & filed a complaint over the unethical activities. The ****** rep apologized for the experience & will contact dealer mgmt to with my concerns. I emailed the dealer General Mgr (***********************) with my concerns over the failing to follow ************** procedures & unethical ******** *********** they did toward me, & other senior citizen customers my age. I've had no response to date.Customers of Honda of Sarasota need to be more diligent and aware of the sales practices at this dealership. I would not recommend Honda of Sarasota to any age vehicle buyer.Review from Charles W

I wrote complaining that the dealership was late in giving my cousin a $100 finders fee for referring me to them where I ultimately bought a new **** Honda CRV Hybrid. They quickly contacted my cousin and gave her a check to resolve the issue. I am grateful for the professional way they handled this oversight.Review from JASON A

DO NOT SHOP HERE! I bought a Dodge Ram from this company. I bought the full 3 year warranty. If something happened to the truck, I was told there would be no problems if I had to tow the truck. I would also be allowed a rental while the truck was repaired. Sure enough, Power Steering goes out. My second payment is not even due yet. I was told, there are not rental cars available. The truck also had a door lock issue. I was told that there was a work order put in. Has the company called me to give me updates? Absolutely not. My advice, don't buy a warranty, don't expect a rental, don't even expect to see them call you back. Absolutely horrible place.Review from Regis S

I bought a mini van from the dealership and they tacked on a service contract that i told them i did not want and added it on my loan..I cought this a month later and called them and they said it was a mistake and they would reimburse me for the 2200 dollars...ive been calling them and calling them and they have been avoiding me...Honda of Sarasota Response

Nate C. & Michael M. rom our finance office as well as Danielle & Vikki in our accounting office have all responded to you by phone about this cancellation and the issue with your trade title. Andrea just confirmed with me that your refund from Fidelity was processed on December 2nd. If there was a lien on the vehicle at that time, the funds would go to the lender to reduce the payoff amount. If there was no lien, or if you had paid the loan off by then, the funds would have been sent to you. We appreciate your business and I assure your that we do not "tack on" anything that a customer doesn't want or agree upon during the vehicle purchase process I'm sorry for any miscommunications that may have occurred.
