If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm moving out of a Berger rental complex. I can't even begin to describe the issues we have had. We signed a lease to move in on September 8, 2021. September 7th we were told we couldn't because the previous tenant wouldn't leave. They were dragging their feet on getting them out. We waited 3 months to finally move in. Over those months we were dealt with a huge attitude from our leasing agent Tawny. We were assured at move in it was a her problem, not a company problem. In the year and a half we lived there, we have had all these issues: Mouse infestation that took 6 months, multiple traps, and sonic devices to help keep at bay Parking issues. Either people parking who aren't registered to the building, people parking in the loading dock and blocking others from getting in and out for hours at a time, people parking in handicap spots who aren't handicap but it isn't enforced, etc. Lack of trash pick up. Doesn't get collected when it should, dumpsters do not get emptied. Trash flows into the parking lots pool is never cleaned and now it is supposed to be torn down elevators don't work we went 2 months with barely any hot water appliances don't function properly They frequently charge the tenants for issues they should be responsible for, not us. Dog crap is always a problem inside and outside the building Lack of communication Fire alarms don't always work In the process of moving out, I have lost count of all the people who said they can't wait to leave as well. Don't ever rent at a Berger company. You will instantly regret it. They do not care about their tenants in the least.Review from BRENDA M

HORRIBLE. All they care about is adding fees raising rents at the highest rates I’ve seen in six years living here. They took over our building in Pittsburgh two years ago. It’s so below what it used to be. They’ve taken away so many amenities to out more money in their pockets. They don’t communicate with tenants they truly DO NOT CARE. They’ve not made ONE improvement to this outdated building. They’ve only taken away the few amenities we had. RUN.Review from Amy F

I am shocked at Berger rental properties. Two separate major serious complaints with very disturbing supporting proof against a maintenance worker in one of their apartment properties in PIttsburgh yet not even the head owners of the company (given specific personal knowledge of it) showed any concern or did anything about it. Not even apologizing for this happening at one of their properties, nothing. They didn't even care enough to move this individual to a different property. As a professional myself that blows my mind to want someone like that representing your company or jeopardizing residents safety and trust with such serious unstable issues transpiring. Not only was nothing done, he is still allowed all access keys to go into peoples apartments . What happened to safety of residents and being ethical and held accountable!? I would encourage all to stay away from renting from Berger properties for sure. You should be able to feel safe and secure where you reside and apparently that isn't a priority or even a concern of Berger for any of their residents.Review from Angela S.

If it was possible I would leave zero stars. I have been a resident at Aston Glenn in Upper Chichester PA for the past year with Berger, ( I have lived in this complex for a total of 10 years) and these fools by far are the worst landlords I had. I moved in in June and that is when all of my problems have started. After multiple complaints I finally received screens for my 2 windows and not my sliding glass door the last week of October. The following week they ripped down my balcony with no warning. The workers trespassed in my apartment from the cherry picker and left my door open. All of this was communicated to me after I had called 911 to report someone in my apartment. It is now June and I have lived in this apartment without a balcony longer then I have lived with one. There is a piece of plywood that covers more then half of my sliding glass door. When the electricians came into my apartment to check my electric box and make sure everything is labeled correctly we then were notified by the tenet under me that my electric box turns his tv off . This was all communicated to the office and yet still nothing has been fixed. Berger says "Renting should be easy" and use the slogan "It's the Berger way" just shows that they don't care about their tenets. Money talks and people suffer.Review from Jason G

They made me pay for my dog in October to move in with my dad a few of 350$. Then made me submit an application with another fee of 65$. Then send shot records for my dog. After all is approved and they get their money they turn around and put a note on our door while myself and my dad were at work stating they cant renew are lease and are kicking us out to renovate our apartment. Couldn’t call or show their face. Then I call the office and it took a week to get a call back and Lauren whiteman said we can either move into a renovated apartment or move out for 3 weeks then move back in after they renovate. My dad and myself thought about it and decided that since nothing was available for our end lease date of feb14 that we would just move out and move back in. So I call the office 4 weeks ago and leave a message for Lauren to call me back stated in the message that we were going to move out and then move back after the renovation was complete. It took over a week to get a phone call back. This was 2 weeks ago (December 1st 2021). She changed her tune and said she had to now check and see with her supervisor in corporate I still have yet to hear back. Now with the pandemic and inflation we cannot find a new place to live. I still have no answers on what to do next. I do not recommend anyone renting from any Berger affiliates they are shady crooks as far as I’m concerned I hope this helps my dad and myself to stay in the place we live.Review from Keith

I worked for this company for about 1 year. When you start with the company they really try to make it sound like they are a great company to work for. I worked as a project manager for them. From my experience several of their managers who I had interactions with are ego driven and try to make you look bad so they look good. I enjoyed what I did but my boss Nate Green belittled me often in front of other to make himself feel good. When I left I sent an email to the owner son and the CEO of the company so they are aware of the management they have working for them. I would warm anyone looking to work for them that they are not as good of a company as they try to make it sound and many managers are not good or easy to work with.Review from Britt G

horrible company. they will find anyway of charging you for things you did not do when you move out. they also do a final walk thru and tell you everything is fine then take charges out of your security deposit anyway. I was told at the final walk thru that since my unit was so old everything in it was getting ripped out and replaced once i moved out, then i get charged for several cleaning fees. we cleaned everything from top to bottom so they just find ways to take your money and lie about it. would never recommend
