Very poor customer service. Simple billing questions cannot be answered if it’s a Friday, Saturday or Sunday because the office people have a three day weekend every week. Then they have an independent agency that handles the calls but cannot do anything but say they are sorry and take messages. With Adams electric being a member owned company it sure doesn’t appear that way.

Our office hours are by appointment, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. In addition, Adams Electric employees can be reached for billing and member services inquiries by calling ************. The four-day work week saves members money by eliminating windshield time for our crews heading to job sites four days a week versus five, which in the long run, saves our membership money. The 10-hour workdays also allow our crews longer daytime hours on a jobsite to more quickly complete complicated upgrades, projects, and repairs before the end of the day. During after hours, we are still a 24/7 business, using the Cooperative Response Center for a call center and dispatching. CRC is a nationwide, cooperatively owned and operated contact center, providing our membership with services including round-the-clock dispatch and customer care. If that network is unable to answer your questions, they do leave open tickets, which our member services representatives promptly respond to the next business day. We also have a contact us form on our website at adamsec.coop and a general email, *************************** which is available for members to leave a message anytime. Thank you.

This winter my elderly father got behind on opening the mail and the power company shut his electric off in the dead of winter without so much as a curtesy phone call. They said they tried to call but there was no evidence of one on his caller id. He had enough credits they owned him that bill cycle to pay his bill but the converted a debt from a business "he doesnt even own a stake in" to his home address driving his bill up it think it was just over an extra 2000 dollars. The credits they were set to pay him that month was near exactly his past due amount and him having slight bit left over. If i had not shown up to check on him that day after the power being turned off he would have consumed all of his propane over the next couple of days because his propane generator was running, his furnace faulted from the dirty power and the board had to be replaced to the tune of 800 dollars. He had to pay the 2k plus debt on the business which he doesnt own anymore all over the lease holder and current owner didnt pay it. Now he is struggling to collect for that debt all because ARE thinks it is ok to transfer a bill to his residence for something they didnt even verify was his debt. ARE are rip off artists always turning off peoples power, swapping billing dates around to convenance themselves to put people out, late with payment, or 1 month behind so they can keep the persons deposit which is substantial compared to other suppliers but what do they care they have a monopoly on the area no one here can have a choice of provider for any utilities. They have ridiculous charges on the bills like 30 dollars facilities charge that everyone pays (thats 1 expensive janitorial service and they must have their office nice and cozy year round while customers struggle). They charge 3 lines of fees on the bill.. 1: Facility charge 2: Distribution 3: Generation & Transmission. PUCO should define those 3 charges and remove one because they are the same things. MONOPOLY!
