My partner and I joined this dentist a little over a year ago. My partner purchased Dental Insurance through Delta Dental (Fixed Plan) and soon after she made her first appointment. VA Smiles of Stafford, at the front desk on Day #1 told us that for her treatment plan they planned for her, was going to be a little over $300 after insurance, which seemed cheap for the things services planned, "Multiple tooth Removals and Fillings" We asked if this was right because she is on a very "Fixed" budget and they said. Fast Ford 6 months and she received an outstanding bill for over $800 when she always paid the full cost given after each visit, at this point, she had 2-3 visits and paid in full each time, each time giving a low estimate. The problem, is their Dentrix system, defaulted to a corporate delta dental plan, not her plan, which is a fixed cost, which means when the dental office tells delta dental they want to do for example 2 fillings, delta dental will give them the patient portion which is our responsibility, which is a 'FIXED' non changing cost, but they didn't send the codes and get the cost based off her actual insurance, so the estimates they were given us all along were based off the WRONG INSURANCE. They threatened to send us to collections if we didn't pay. We did file a complaint with Delta Dental, but there is nothing nobody can do, so we either pay or deal with fighting with the credit bureau and the dental office denies any responsibility cause of their clause that we signed a form, that gives that full immunity. If we took them to court, we would 100% win, but it's not worth it, we paid the bill, which was their fault and both left that dental office. Our new dental office is so much better. Not only did they fail at billing, but the billing people berated us on the phone and even the delta dental representative who told them they were wrong. Completely unprofessional, they need customer service training for sure.
