Dear *******
Thank you for taking the time to provide a review about Penn Foster. We welcome all feedback and use each and every suggestion to improve our students experience. We would like to add that each and every student situation is different, and we would like to treat them independently as Penn Foster is devoted to the educational advancement and satisfaction of all our students. Notification to Save the Date for the 2024 graduation would have been sent to the email address on file for eligible students on 3/27/24. A follow-up email was then sent on 5/8/24. To be eligible for Registration, all academic requirements and financial obligations must have been successfully completed and an overall passing grade average achieved before registration closes on July 1, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. EDT. Graduate Registration must be completed and paid by July 1, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. EDT, or before the event sells out. This years ceremony did sell out early. We encourage all students who could not register for this years ceremony to sign the Yearbook and look out for information about celebrations in the future!
Thank You,

Really disappointed with this school. I started to high school program in 2022. For starters, the academic work is not up to par. You can hardly get ahold of anyone when calling the Pennfoster number. What really **** the line in the sand is they refuse to sign government documents. I recently had a benefit from social security but to receive the benefit I needed a 1372 form filled out. THIS WAS NOT A ****** It is simply something I received from my father being a 100% disabled veteran. They reiterated multiple times on the phone they had a policy in place saying they cannot sign any legal documents. When I asked for the policy, it was never sent, and a supervisor was suppose to call but never did. At social security I was told it's not legal to refuse signing legal documents, especially as an "accredited school". How do you go about kids trying to get a drivers license that require a ********************** to sign off? What about all other instances involving needing something signed? Everything about this school is sketchy. Save your thousand dollars and use it towards another program. This one is a complete joke.Penn Foster Response

We are unable to fill out Paperwork from Social Security for our students. The Social Security paperwork requires students to be a full-time student at an elementary or secondary school (a secondary school is a school at or below the high school level), or You qualify for childhood disability benefits.
Unfortunately,we cannot complete the request for the following reasons:
Social Security generally considers a student to be in full-time assistance if he/she:
Attends an elementary or secondary level school, as determined by the law of the State or other jurisdiction in which the school is located;
Is enrolled in a day or evening non-correspondence course at least 13 weeks in duration;
Is scheduled to attend at the rate of at least 20 hours weekly and carries a subject load considered full-time for day students under the schools standards and practices.
One of the benefits of Penn Fosters programs and the reason so many of our students choose our school is the ability to work at their own pace. The flexibility it affords our students does not allow us to certify our students as attending full-time because each student works independently and at their own individualized pace.All Penn Foster Accreditations, Licensing, and Recommendations can be found at **********************************************************

Penn Foster screwed my daughter over when it came to the commencement. Their website indicated that we would receive an email at the end of May 2024 regarding commencement. By early June I had not received an email so I wrote to them multiple times and finally received a link to register for Graduation. I received the link on June 19 but when I clicked on the link there was no way to register. Less than one month later when I clicked on the link again the information I received was that registration was now closed. At no time did I ever receive an email with instructions about when to register. They claimed an email may have been in my spam, but it was not; I checked. Through no fault of my own, or my daughters she will not be allowed to participate in the commencement ceremony. My attempts to call to ask somebody what was going on were futile. When I was finally able to contact a real human, they were unable to provide me with any helpful information. Most of the numbers that I tried, including the number that was specifically for Graduation went unanswered. I am so upset that my daughter will not be able to participate in a commencement ceremony. This entire commencement process has been poorly organized and the inability to get in touch with anybody to discuss what has happened is infuriating.Penn Foster Response

In June, graduates were sent emails inviting them to officially register and reserve their space for this years ceremony. We also provided the registration link on our ************ Sites. Registration for this years event was made available on a first-come, first-served basis and unfortunately, we have now reached capacity. We will reach out to you directly with more information. My daughter completed all course work for the Certified Medical Assistant Career Dipolma. The problem, she is sitting on over 2 months of waiting to start her externship. The workplace that agreed to the externship has signed and returned all documents needed for her to begin. She is emailing Penn Foster several times a week. They continue to say they are waiting on their legal department. My daughter is ready to complete the program, so she can join the workforce. Why is it taking so long?Penn Foster Response

Thank you for taking the time to review Penn Foster. Your feedback is valuable, and we use each suggestion to improve our students' experiences. It's worth noting that every student's situation is unique, and we strive to address them individually as we're committed to the educational progress and satisfaction of all our students.
Congratulations on enrolling and making significant academic progress! You're progressing quickly through your program, and on average, students complete it in about 15 months.You've reached 70% completion in just over a month, which is impressive.
We apologize for the shipping delays with your books. In this program, the shipment of books is requested once a learner reaches a certain point in their studies. The shipment timeframes require up to 14 business days as we work closely with our partner Optum.
We are saddened to see you withdraw from our program. However, we do wish you the best of luck as you continue your journey.
Best regards,

I've had to remind them to mail my textbooks twice. Still waiting and my program is now on pause until received which will be at least 2 weeks. I was told they would automatically be mailed to me at the start of my previous module. I've paid in full up front, just over *******. I was told today that the book request was never received(?). I'm not really happy about it.Penn Foster Response

Please avoid Penn Foster. I've recently finished a program and Paid in full and they have not issued my certificate. The chat system is horribly slow responding. It's almost as if they want you to give up trying to get what you paid for. In the past they were better but now it's clear that they do not value the customer.Penn Foster Response

Penn Foster can not be cancelled. Don't do it. If your student decides to go the ****** route, they will not cancel. My daughter signed the grandchild up for the program. My daughter can't pay. The minor child got the ****** instead. Now they are trying to **** the money out of a teenager. Terrible company. I do NOT recommend. If your child goes another route, You owe the money.Penn Foster Response

Penn Foster was a good program for our children. While not the most advanced academic program, it is above mainstream education, and is very flexible! Worked perfect for our military homeschool family. Our children have all done very well post -secondary education, largely from the encouragement and support that they received with Penn Foster.Penn Foster Response
