I bought my first car in 10 years at performance Toyota bountiful.At the time of sale,I almost left there was a ton of pressure to buy the car.As I was leaving stopped me with a “discount” and I agreed to buy the car. I purchased the car as is but “as is” means that any preexisting known problems need to be disclosed to me.I feel the vehicle condition was misrepresented to me. At the time of purchase there was a sensor light on for the parking assist. I was told this would be repaired. I had to go back and forth with the dealership even though it was signed as a “we owe” item in my agreement.First they wanted me to pay $700 then $400.They did end up repairing it, and holding to their word, as it was in the agreement. The sensor was the start of the real issue. The real issue is that the steering rack and pinion is bad. The car makes a horrible sound when turning and the repair of my 3 month new to me car is upwards of $5000. That’s a quarter of what I was financed for. I am stuck with a car that I have to fix, that I feel was completely misrepresented to me. I have researched steering rack and pinion and this typically does not go bad for 150,000+ miles to even the life of the car. When I purchased the car it had 55,000 miles on it. I have barely driven it 3000 miles in 4 months and it’s getting progressively worse. I do not believe the mechanics that inspected the car before they sold it to me at the dealership were unaware of the issue. I feel that they fully knew, chose not to disclose, and now they have no interest in assisting me because it was purchased “as is”. After waiting for years to buy a car I feel taken advantage of. I would advise anyone if you are being pressured to buy, walk away. I do not believe the mechanics did not know, because after they “fixed” the sensor is when the sound started, further connecting that the two were related. The parking assist functions from the rack and pinion which is bad, and this issue was not disclosed at sale.

I purchased a used F150 in October and within days discovered the main seal is needing to be replaced as well as the valve cover gaskets. Another week and the transmission started throwing codes and not shifting into 1st or 2nd. AAMCO informed me they need to take the transmission out and replace sensors at a cost of *****. Its only been 2 months! This dealership tells me that its sold as is so they will do nothing. Im 100% sure they knew all these issues and did not disclose them in order to make a sale but no way to prove it. Shady dealership and I advise anybody to stay away. They have no issues lying to their customers and sell you a piece of junk at premium prices.

This dealership is the bane of my existence. After purchasing my car from them nearly a year ago, I have experienced h*** I dont understand how they are still in business. They have dropped the ball more times than I can count at this point. Most recently, they scratched my car door during regular service and after approaching them, they have ghosted me. During my car buying experience, they provided me several wrong time frames of when my car would arrive, they told me my car was ready, I showed up to pick it up and the car had the wrong VIN. They sent a short payoff for my previous car. I could go on and on about the misery this dealership has caused and would not recommend it to anyone. It is clear that they have no regard for customer satisfaction and I would advise anyone looking to purchase a car to steer clear of Toyota Bountiful. I will give them credit for attempting to make things right by offering a few free services but upon taking advantage of those services, I have ended up with more disappointment than relief! Car listed for $8500 for over a week but changed to over $14500 overnight for hybrid battery upgrade once inquired about vehicle. *********** Shady!!!!!Stay away

Very dishonest and misleading Dealership, back in Feb, 2019 I purchased a brand new 4Runner from this dealer, the vehicle came with a one-inch leveling kit preinstalled by the dealer, when I asked about the warranty cause I was concerned about the warranty being void or affected due to the leveling kit the salesperson ensured me that they install those leveling kits all the time and they only installed products that will not void or alter the warranty, he even introduced me to a sales assistant manager who also reinforced what the salesperson previously told me, not just that but they also offered me an extended warranty through Toyota as a pace of mind, since the extended warranty was very expensive I was very hesitant, so then the financial manager knocked down few dollars of my monthly payment so we could share the cost of the extended warranty which I ended up getting, as I was signing closing docs and we were about to sign the extended warranty contract I asked again and same aswer you are fully covered bubper to bumper incliding the leveling kit for 84 months or 75k miles which ever comes first, now my veihcle developed a humming grinding noise coming from the front differential and even though there is a TSB (toyota service bulleting) for that particular issue they dont want to fix it cause they are blaming the leveling kit, a leveling kit preinstalled by the dealership and warrrantie by the dealership, they didnt took ownwership of the issue neither honored the deal or waranty, still waiting for a respond or solution from the dealer. When you go and drop off $47k on a brand new 4Runner they treat you like a king but when you go back with an issue they treat you like if you were no one.

I had the worst car buying experience with this place. They are not to be trusted. Extremely shady dealership. They will lie and tell you anything to get your sale. Once you sign the contract they make you feel like you're stuck and theres nothing you can do to get out of it. USE EXTREME CAUTION if you decide to purchase from them. READ THE CONTRACT THEY ARE CROOKS.

If there was a minus start rating, this dealer would get a -5. They advertised this vehicle at $ 18,550.00 on 9/08/21 (have copy of posting); on 9/08 I gave them a $500.00 security deposit required to hold the vehicle because I was an out of state buyer. They raised the price to $ 19,665.00 and never send me a notification until 9/13/21 when I finally received the Purchase Agreement. I requested to have the Purchase Agreement reflect the $ 18,550.00, I was told the original price was "As Is", which was never disclosed on the original listing, never posted pics, they emailed me just a few pics, none of them disclosing bumper damage; keep in mind this was a lease option, last I check the lessee would have been charge for this damage, tires show more than 9k wear, interior very duty even when pics show being detailed. Bottom line we took the car "As Is", I had a lot of time invested in looking for one that would have met my needs, and I had taken time off work to drive out of state to pick it up. I would never recommend dealing with this dealer, specially to out of state buyers We have bought several vehicles and have never had a problem, so I did not even think to check reviews on this dealer, I wish I would have.

I had a very positive experience with Junior, Ivan, and Uriah at Toyota Bountiful. I would highly recommend this dealership to anybody. They provided a refreshing level of transparency and treated me like a friend.

I will never be doing business with Performance Toyota in Bountiful ever again and will tell friends and family not to go there. I was told by the salesman that the pay off for my vehicle trade in would be sent to the bank within a couple business days and be done before the next regular payment for the vehicle I was getting rid of. That was on 6/22/2021. As of 7/13/2021 the vehicle that I traded in has still not been paid off. The finance department is shady. They wrote a check for a pay off that was 100 dollars less than what it actually was. Even after I called and got the exact pay off amount, they still didn’t write a check for the correct amount. Since I signed the paperwork, I am responsible for the remaining amount they didn’t pay, and the daily interest it takes before the check gets there to pay off the vehicle. With the horrible service I experienced I called and spoke to a manager and he told me that he would look into it and call me back. That was a week ago and still have not heard from the manager.
