These guys are nothing but scam artists. Bought a brand new 2023 Atlas and get into the finance managers office to find out they had added a $750 charge for leather protection. First, why the h*** is it $750 to spray a $20 bottle of stuff on the seats and second, when I questioned them about it they said they couldn't give me the agreed upon price of the car unless I also got this additional product. What a load of c*** and shady way of doing business! I should have walked out but by that time it was late and we had already been there a few hours so I went ahead with the deal. They said they would call us to schedule an appointment to have the leather protection added on. Never got a call. A few months go by and I ask them if I can get that money refunded since they never put the protection on but I was charged for it. They said they would look into it and provide evidence that it was done and call me back. A few more weeks and no call. I called them back and asked about it and they send me an email with a bogus request order for a day my wife took the car in for service that they wrote that the leather and paint protection was added. This is 100% BS! Yes my wife took the car in that day, but they took one look at the mileage and told her service wasn't needed and sent her on her way. They never touched the car to add any kind of leather protection. Just a bunch of lying scum bags! Stay away if you value your money.Volkswagen Southtowne, Inc. Response

Cade, We are sorry to hear that your recent purchase experience did not meet your expectations. We take pride in being fully transparent with the costs of any after market products purchased, and whether or not they're cancelable. Their cancelation policies are also documented on the contracts themselves. We do have a repair order that product has been applied to the 2023 Atlas, and unfortunately, this is one of **************** items that is non-cancelable. Our customer relations manager, *********************, who you've spoken to in the past, will email you the repair order.Review from Kimberly A

Bought an extended warranty that I didnt not know about. Canceled it and the money is not coming to me but to the dealership and I have to wait for the dealership to get the funds before they will cut me a check. I dont feel this is right because it bought the warranty why shouldnt I get the money vs it going to the dealership! Now when I call and get a status on when I can get my money they transfer me all over instead of wanting to talk with me.Volkswagen Southtowne, Inc. Response

********, we are sorry to hear that you are unsatisfied with the process required to process your pro-rated reimbursement of the voluntary after market products purchased with your vehicle. We cannot issue funds that we do not have, therefore, we have to wait for the warranty company to issue us payment in order for us to cut you the check. This is to mitigate any potential risk.Review from Richard G

Big mistake buying from VW Southtown. I usually do a better job checking with other dealerships. ************ gave me a pretty good deal according to them, however checking with ********* and ******* I could have gotten the same make and model for at least a $1000 less and the interest rate would have been 2.9% for 72 months instead of the 5.9% they charged me.. Buyer beware - I usually don't go with the first offer which I did with ************ and now I have to live with my mistakes and extra charges. Hope this helps someone - buyer beware!!!!!Volkswagen Southtowne, Inc. Response

*******, We are sorry to hear that you don't feel as if you've received a good deal from our location. I understand that you've had a conversation with our General Manager about this as well, and hope that he was able to address your concerns directly.Review from Angelina J

Both of my airbags on my brand new 2023 GTI are not working along with some other issues. Called to get a service appointment set up and was unfortunately connected with *******. After I told him I couldn't leave the car on the coming Monday morning as I needed to go to work he then told me to "find a ride" or he can schedule me over a week later after I already said multiple times, I don't feel comfortable with no airbags as I live in **** and the snow has started making driving conditions difficult. He wouldn't listen and I said "I know you guys have a shuttle service so why do you tell me to find my own ride" then he goes yea we do have a shuttle service. Okay why didn't you say that the first time? This is the second brand new car I've bought from here been a loyal customer since 2021 never missed a payment so it's really frustrating when your basic safety is not cared for by the employees. If this was some issue with nearly anything else, fine schedule me next 2 weeks out. But when I say I don't feel safe without airbags in these conditions and this is how I'm treated. Not to mention every car should be equipped with functioning airbags especially a brand new car. Speaking with ******* truly made me regret ever buying the car because his lack of empathy and skill. Finally got connected with **** and he was very nice and actually came up with a solution for me instead of "you can find a ride" ******* has horrible customer service I suggest you don't let him pick up a phone again unless you want to leave customers feeling like you mean nothing to themVolkswagen Southtowne, Inc. The service department is a joke. We had a recall on or breaks. Took the car in for new brakes and thought everything was good. Nope 2 months later, brakes are screeching. Took the car back in. Apparently the new brakes are worn down to nothing. So, they replaced our brand new brakes with new brakes again, Mind you, no loner car was given and it took several days to have everything looked at and repaired. This is our only vehicle so we paid for a rental car out of our own pocket. A few days later, the brakes started to squeal when stopping. So again, for the third time, we take the car in. They tell us the brakes look fine and the squealing is normal. Umm excuse me, Im not an idiot, squealing brakes are not normal! In order to have a main line diagnostic tech look at the brakes they are wanted to charge us $170 just to look at them. What a ripoff! Oh and Ill also be two weeks before we can get an appointment to have that done. This problem didnt exist prior to the original recall replacement and now you want to charge us just to diagnose why they are acting the way they are, ie to diagnose what you messed up?! What a scam!!!! I hate hate HATE VW Southtowne service department! Youre no better then some scam garage.Review from Seann M

Window switch wasn't working.Lol what a ripoff company, they wouldn't cover it under warranty then they said it was an electrical fault and wanted me to pay a diagnostic fee. Had them argue with me and try to justify the electrical fault that they diagnosed. I said "nfw that they plug the car in and get an electrical fault diagnosis coming from the window button"They argued again.Turned out it was a small rock that got wedged in under the button. Not sure how the electrons flowed from the rock to their diagnostic computer. Thanks for the argument, subsequent lie, and the invitation to not come to your place of business again. (The uninvitation wasn't necessary btw)Buyer beware.Review from Brooke H

I went to this dealership to buy a car with financing already in place and I have good credit. By the time I found a car that worked within my limit it was too late to go to my bank and get my check so I end up financing through the dealership and they sold me the warranty but failed to tell me that there was a waiting period And did not give me a copy of the warranty at the time of signing. My car broke down on me on the way home from work 26 days after I bought it. I immediately took a picture of the warning that popped up and sent it to the dealership with no response. I proceeded to call a few more times I also text the podium number they have 2 times and I text my sales agent personally. My sales agent text me a pic of the front page of my warranty that has the # to call and said that was all he could do and to call the service ***** I called a few more times and after being told that somebody would call me back several times and never getting a call I finally got ahold of the person at the front desk. Another woman answered and took my info and the details of what happened and said they would call me back. No one called back and I went the entire weekends without a vehicle stranded not knowing where I could even take my car because the warranty place was also closed. Long story short I called the warranty company they told me I have a waiting period of 30 days and that I needed to drive at least a **** miles before I could use my warranty. The car is not drivable and I've only driven it 300 miles and I've owned it less than 30 days. They called me today and told me that the *** that is damaged from being flooded was my fault because of condensation or possibly hitting a puddle which is not physically possible where we live. I park under cover and its 90 to 100 degrees in **** right now. I have never even washed the car and the video from the mechanic stated it was from a power washer or detail.. go figure this is my fault you big name dealer.Review from George S

Unfortunately I chose VW Southtowne to bring my 2018 Atlas in for a water pump replacement under the manufactures warranty on 07/29/21. Technician Danial C********** said he checked everything out and the Atlas was good to go. On 07/30/21 I was on the Van Winkle expressway in Murray when I noticed a whirling noise coming from my dash board. Shortly after I felt a clunk, I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a disk like object fall from my car. I call VW ST and they gave me the number to VW roadside assistance. The Tow truck driver noticed my serpentine belt to the water pump was shredded. Danial C********** was assigned my car again and gave me a five point video inspection. He said my belt snapped and these things happen. Sam, the acting supervisor apologized and said they had to order a new belt and pully wheel that should be in 8/2/21. I said ok what about my transportation? Sam said he did not have any cars. I pointed out it was a dealership and he had plenty of cars. His response was " I get it, but I dont have any cars at this time". They covered the repairs (their screw up) under warranty but I paid for the tow. The thing that really pisses me off is they would not give me a loaner after botching my water pump repair. People, do not go to VW SouthTowne. They suck, especially Technician Danial fabricator of lies C********** and Sam "yes we have no cars today. Unbelivable!
