I sent a downpayment ($175.00) on two Heavy Dewlap Toulouse geese to ********************* of Chapel View Farms on 1/18/23. I was told the geese would be sent in June and I would pay the remaining $175.00 plus shipping when they shipped. Six months after they were supposed to be shipped (and many many emails and phone calls later putting me off for one reason or another), I requested a refund for the geese I would seemingly never get. I tried for months to go with the flow and be patient, as I, too, raise geese and deal with unforeseen farm issues and variables of farm life. I wanted to believe all the stories of why I still didn't get my geese, but after awhile I got tired of the runaround. I just want my money back. I have sent two emails requesting this refund directly to *********************, but have not gotten any results or even a reply. Please help .Initial Complaint

The attached cell phone text message DOC file is the conversation I had with *****, owner of Chapel View Farm and Stable in *********, *********. On February 2, 2023 contacted ***** and ordered 4 Dewlap *****************, to be shipped to my address in ****, *******. My deposit check of $350.00 was received and acknowledged. Throughout our conversation, it sounded like ***** had every intention to ship the goslings and as a result, I was very understanding when it came to his excuses and delays. However, as October and then November approached and there was still no shipment, I requested a refund and wrote "at this point it is clear that you are unable to fulfill your commitment, and I am requesting a full refund of my deposit." ***** stopped responding to those last 2 October or November texts.Business response

This goes to each and every person that has put payment or a deposit down on Goslings:
All communication goes through email at this point for clients that continue to text at all hours of the night, through church on Sundays, and want immediate results with the situation that is based entirely on the birds Breeding seasons. (February through the end of June each year.)
We have had people on our list for several years to get the right birds. We tell people upfront, the deposits are nonrefundable, and each and every person has had that conversation with us, whether it be an email or on a phone conversation. Lets just be clear there. We do that so we know when we can stop taking orders. Im not turning a Client away who is interested in ******** only for somebody else who has no patience with the process to decide they want out while *** already told other people they cannot come on board.
The breeding season lasts between 8 to 12 weeks each spring. We do our best to produce the correct number of Goslings for the clients we have on our list. The reason we take deposits at all is because we need to know exactly where these birds are going by the time they hit 10 days old. They ship beautifully between 10 and 14 days old at a very agreeable price for the client through ***** As the birds grow, get older and bigger the price through **** is exponential. This is a decade long process we have already been engaged with, and we know it works beautifully. We guarantee the *** of each Gosling and the color that the client wants. We try desperately to fill each order in the order we received the deposit. Sometimes that doesnt happen. Sometimes more Ganders are produced than females so we have to move to a client that is looking for boys rather than girls, sometimes, vice versa.
Weve had several people say theyre no longer interested, even though weve had them on the list for a year or two, not allowing other people on because of their initial deposit. People always have the option to walk away, but we keep every deposit for every client in house so if they change their mind later on, they can come back and pick up right where they left off.
We are literally six weeks away from the new breeding season. That starts here on Valentines Day every year. So clients that did not receive ******** last year, despite our best efforts, are moved up the chain and will be at the top of the selection for the **** birds. Its just that simple.
So I hope this answers any questions the BBB might have because it just seems that so many people dont understand the actual process, how hard it is to accurately predict/Breed/deliver on the timeframe that works for everybody. Mother nature is in charge, and we do our very best. I personally had been on the list in ************ for four years waiting for optimum ******** to add to our program. So trust me, I get it more than anybody else does.
Clients are always able to check in through email. At this point, we will do our very best to reply as soon as possible, but in the winter, were not in the office as much as outside chores are elongated, and it takes more time, making sure all the animals and birds here on the property are in perfect condition.
So again, for anybody, with the same request/understanding of our practices, I will go on to social media this week and put a new, but almost Word for Word the same, post spelling out exactly what *** said here and if people think they can get Quality Birds elsewhere, thats where they need to shop but meanwhile, were going to continue to do our job here to fill every order as we have here for over a decade.
Im sorry were not Amazon and have a stack of Goslings sitting in a bin waiting to be shipped, but thats not how it works. This is the single, hardest breed of domestic goose to effectively produce in the world. No bird is harder and we have had years where we are produced 175 Goslings within six weeks period. Then we have 2020 with COVID-19. No birds shipped. 2021 with a live bird ban from shipping from southeastern ********* early season. 2022 with avian influenza and a lockdown of Washington county with us in the 20 mile perimeter circle of finding avian influenza in our county, where no birds could move. 2023 was extreme infertility at this farm probably due to absolutely no rainfall over the course of five months. Driest on record. The Virginia farm, however, did very well but the logistics and moving birds later in the season would cost clients a considerable amount of money for shipping. Were trying to negate that if possible.
So we will continue to keep each client posted and again, social media posts will be indicative of spelling this process out even more clearly than we did in 2016, which is still pinned on all social media/website post.
Regards,
**********;

I purchased two swans from *********************. When the swans arrived, they were dead. They were shipped two in a box, meant for one swan of its size. I know this because I contacted the box manufacturer. They said that he should have known better. I have a video of when I opened the box, containing the swans. I knew they were dead, because the scent of death and there was no movement, The swans were sent Priority Mail, but were about 10 hours late. They should have still been alive, but they appear to have suffocated. My ***** only seemed to want to rely on insurance that I paid for, along with the shipping I paid for, with the ***** He is ALL over ******** and the internet for having scammed people. I was made aware of this during my dealings with him, but only after sending him the money for the swans. I am happy to provide you with our communications and the video of what I received. Please help me put a stop to this man and his abuse of animals. I am seeking the return of my ******* paid for the swans.Initial Complaint

I requested a refund on November 2020 of a deposit that was placed August 2020. The deposit was supposed to go to a purebred puppy, however I never received this dog so I require a refund of my money. I have the receipt, i never signed a contract saying "non-refundable deposit." The deposit was for the amount of $600.00 USD. When i reached out to them about returning the deposit, they responded essentially saying "we'll try our best." I have not heard from them since then, and at this time when I am reaching out again they are avoiding response by leaving me on read. I require this deposit refunded. I never received a product or service for it.
