We purchased the Bruno outdoor chairlift for my mother and mother in law 6 years ago. It is very unreliable. It works properly about 25% of the time. when using it, after failing to go up or down, we try the remote, snap the chair back to the ready position, turn it off/on, pull out the power cable and plug back in, repeat the previous steps and eventually it might work. It's hard on a 95 year old woman sitting out in the cold waiting while myself or an aid has to spend up to 10 minutes getting it to work and sometimes not getting it to work so it means assisting her up the stairs. Whenever we have an expensive service, it works fine, till the service person leaves. I would not buy this product.Bruno Independent Living Aids, Inc. Response

*****,
I am sorry to hear about your issues with this lift. Can you provide me with the serial number so i can look in our records on any cases that *** have come in? Also have you spoken to the installing dealer about this issue? This lift being an outdoor unit should be maintained at least twice a year depending on your location.

This company is a complete con-job, even amongst stair lift manufacturers. Unwilling to provide manuals, unwilling to allow self-service, ****: you can't even put the ****** carriage into neutral or use a hand winder. You MUST contact support, and MUST pay a small fortune to a tech, who, put frankly, knows less about how the **** thing operates and is assembled than I do. The lift I'm dealing with is throwing a "carriage wasn't returned to end of track" error code, with the carriage stuck midway (despite batteries fully charged, no continuity breaks, correct voltage across all connections). "Okay," thinks I. "Let's get her back to the end!" Oh, no no no! You can't manually move the ***! Okay, let's try the technician! Who ALSO cannot move the stupid thing, and concludes the ****** logic board is bad (though I've checked every trace on the **** thing and it most certainly is NOT). "Gonna hafta order a $450 replacement"! Which, incidentally, despite being an OEM board, Bruno warranties for a sum total of ZERO DAYS. This is the epitome of taking advantage of the elderly. Scammers in the truest sense of the word. These ******** make these helpless, fixed-income folk spend several times the cost of the unit (which is NOT covered by Medicare), get them into their ecosystem, then proceed to bleed them on parts and service calls. I will never, ever recommend their garbage product line to another human being. There is, quite literally, no reason these units cannot be self serviced. I'm off to figure out how to manually run current to the motor of this unit. Cant void the non-existent warranty, after all, and I can't render it MORE of a paperweight, now can I? Bruno, you are despicable opportunists who have not only failed to make a reliable product these poor folks can count on, but to be decent representatives of our species as well. Shame on you all. I sincerely hope in your golden years you're forced to rely on your own scam products.Bruno Independent Living Aids, Inc. Response

****************,
I am sorry you are having issues with your lift. We do have a 90 day parts warranty for older lifts or items that are not covered under the regular warranty. Can you please send me your serial number of your lift? I may be able to help you.

Had a problem shortly after installation of my Bruno Elite. The stairs made a loud clicking noise when I used the stairlift. The dealer sent a service person and they concluded that the noise that the stairlift was making was from my stairs that need to be reinforced. I hired a contractor to reinforce my stairs, but the noise persisted. I filled-out a service request from the factory and received a notice that my request was in escalation status. On June 12, 2023 the factory responded saying they would contact me shortly--in a day or so. Not hearing from them for 10 days, I sent a request as to when I could expect to hear from them? It is now August 5, 2023, with NO word from the factory--this was an escalated response?? DON'T BUY--NO SUPPORT!Review from Michael C

Poor installation by unqualified individuals. Im terrified to use it has made horrible noises since installation (I was told it was the paint scrapping off and not to worry Looks to be fastened down with wood screws And just jerked to a stop halfway up the steps and is now unoperable For $32,000 I expected a lot moreBruno Independent Living Aids, Inc. I just called the number you have on your site and it is NOT the corporate # and the woman I spoke with refused to give it to me, saying "we're not allowed to give it out! and "we only deal with dealers"! How's that for a lack of customer support!?? I had my 2nd lift installed less than a year ago and the dealer retired (he never said he was about to retire when I bought the lift), but when he replaced my old lift that was 12 years old and non functioning, he sold me the wrong lift and now I'm stuck with it and when he installed it he failed to replace the arm that attaches to the scooter itself and it now has SEVERE metal fatigue and is DANGEROUS to use! It would have been so simple for Bruno to send me the part and I could have had my mechanic install it! I hope there is another lift manufacturer out there, because I will never use or recommend BRUNO to anyone EVER!Bruno Independent Living Aids, Inc. Response

I am sorry you are having issues with your dealer and your Bruno lift. My guess is that you must have reached our consumer escalation line. They are supposed to take information from the callers and assist if they can. If they cannot, then a case is made and sent to my team at Bruno to call the consumer back. I will need to look into why you were treated this way. Can I assist you with this problem?Customer Response

The response from Bruno is a complete JOKE! They not only do not care about their handicapped clients, who have to suffer as a result of their lack of concern, as well as their walling themselves off from contact! It is further obvious to me, as should be anyone who visits this site that I am not the only handicapped person who has been the victim of their lack of concern! Eventually everyone gets old and some are unfortunate enough to also lose the ability to walk, etc., plus we have to endure real PAIN! The CEO, president and other executives of the Bruno company should ponder the fact that THEY or their FAMILY members may very well encounter what we, their clients, have! PAIN is what we all endure or we would not need wheelchairs, scooters, lifts, etc.!!!
