      Installation • During installation a hole in the basement wall for lines to the furnace was not filled in and we had to request it be filled. There were sheet metal screws left strewn on the basement floor, outside concrete patio and on top of the water heater-hazard to bare feet and pet paws. Rather than routing the electrical conduit around a window, it was run it in front not allowing the basement window to open for ventilation and rather than using new breakers some were used. There was a broken piece on a new unit which required replacement two days later and after completion of replacement the trash was left on the floor of the basement. There was no instruction or care booklet about the units left with the homeowner. Customer Service • Uttke’s knew we were working with the credit union which they recommended. After receiving some of the money from the bank, rather than talking with the credit union about full payment, started calling multiple times asking us why the bank didn’t pay the full amount and how we were going to pay the remaining balance. During one of these calls Pattie questioned why we were avoiding answering the phone in the middle of the workday, pushing for payment at that time, thus insinuating we were avoiding payment. • The credit union contacted us directly because Uttke’s had not filed the paperwork correctly-omitting information about the efficiency of the units. This omitted information was the source of incomplete payment. When we verified the information on the installed units with the credit union directly, we learned the units that Uttke’s recommended did not qualify for the special financing for a city wide program they also recommended.

      Hi ****************. We absolutely apologize for the way the work space was left. Because we did have to return to fix the broken equipment, this could have been easily rectified by us had you called and shared. Unfortunately we have no way of fixing mistakes like this unless we are notified. We leave the hole for the electrician and whether new or used breakers are used are up to the licensed electrician. Did you have any conversation with them when they were onsite? No call to our office was made to look into this for you. Regarding the equipment and financing - a week before the install, there was a telephone conversation about financing. ***** referred your wife to ******************** Your wife and ****** worked out the details. As a contractor, we did not introduce you to the city program (the one that requires specific equipment) you tried to utilize. We simply referred you to ******************** Please know if financing AND the potential of city programs been discussed during the sale process, we absolutely would have recommended the equipment needed to qualify you for the city programs. But the cart was before the horse here and it wasn't until we questioned where payment was that we were told the details of the delay. The confidentiality agreement between Summit and the customer is ********** takes seriously. While we pride ourselves on our craftsmanship and our customer service, not every job goes smoothly. A few phone calls to us would have given us an opportunity to make you happier with your install. However a review without an opportunity does little to help either of us.Thank you,*** Uttke

      We have used Uttke heating and cooling to replace our furnace, water heater, and most recently central air conditioning. They are a family business in our neighborhood. They are very responsive and reasonably priced. They always leave the site clean. We were so grateful they were able to install our air conditioner in the extreme heat yesterday. I highly recommend this company!
