      I got a loan for a vehicle through this bank Oct of 2022, voluntarily repoed the car Nov of 23, was told Id have an answer on auction by mid of Feb 2024, Ive called and asked about answers about the balance due on the loan several times, they took $2500 of my taxes out of my checking account to hold until we hear whats going on from the auction told me theyd know by Wednesday the 28th of Feb 2024 at the absolute latest about the auction. I have called several times and always get the answer well call you back about it when they have never once called me back. Im still paying $525 a month while not having the vehicle in my possession, and it seems to me that theyre pushing it off as much as possible for who knows what reason. I try explaining ** having a hard time affording to live, which is why I gave the car up and got told find a better paying job. Ive waited a lot longer than Ive needed to to hear on how much is owed after auction, or if it was paid off by auction. And I simply cant get any word on it from any employee Ive talked to.

      On 09/10/21, I went to the River Falls branch of the WESTconsin credit union to access my fathers and my safety deposit box. I was denied access and was told my father had removed me on 01/09/20. I informed them that it was not true and that at that same time our accounts were drained of thousands of dollars. I also informed them that my father and I both had came into the River Falls location and reported the theft in January 2020. I also made clear to the manager that the employee that we worked with in January of 2020 had recovered the funds and apologized for the inconvenience. The employee assured us nothing else was effected. They also informed us that someone had moved our funds into a new account with my father with out his permission. This they said took place at the Prescott branch. My father died in February 2021. I am his power of attorney and provided all the legal paperwork to the manager. I was told that I was unable to use the box, Refused to tell me who has the box.

      Hello ******,

      This letter is in response to thecomplaint you have filed with the Better Business Bureau.  It looks like you may have a few concerns, soI will address each one individually below.

      Upon review of your accounts and thepaperwork associated with your deceased fathers safe deposit box we are unableto ***** you access.  While I understandthat you are your fathers personal representative, due to the currentownership of the safe deposit box that designation does not allow you access,other than to view, at this time.  Due toconfidentiality of our membership, we cannot tell you who the owner is of that safedeposit box.  We can confirm that you arenot listed on the current lease.

      Ialso reviewed the concern about fraud happening on your joint accounts withyour father in 2020.  I can confirm thatfraud did not happen at that time.  When thereare joint members on an account, they both have equal access to the funds andcan use and move those funds as they choose.  Our members are allowed to open more then one account and have differentjoint owners on those accounts.  If they,as a common owner, want to transfer funds from one account to another theyabsolutely have that ability.  The commonowner of that account does not have to share who they all have accounts with atthe credit union. 

      Iam sorry to hear of your fathers passing and I can understand your frustrationif you were not informed of all financial decisions made before hispassing.  However, as a financial we arerequired to follow rules and regulations that protect our membersconfidentiality and decisions.  We are unable to make exceptions to this.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
      Yes there was fraud from a person HM. I found out on 1/10/20 that our accounts had large withdrawals from them on 1/3/20. When my father and I met with member services representative *************************** at The River Falls branch on 1/13/20. My Father informed her he did not open an account with HM and informed her that HM was not to have any control of any of his finances. ****** returned the funds to our accounts. Informed us that account With HM would be closed. ****** also informed us that the safety deposit box was not tampered with. My Mother and I have been the only ones with keys and access to the safety deposit box since ****. My father and I contacted ****** county and filed a compliant on HM for Theft and abuse of a senior citizen. I want access to our safety deposit box. I also want to know who besides myself is accessing my accounts.. My attorney is a wear of this situation and will be representing me if this matter is not solved.
