While working on installing a water pressure valve, the vendor manhandled the pipes and caused a leak on the pipe feeding water to my water softener. They in turn accused me of causing the leak. When I contacted them they came over and refused to install "a new softener that I was compelled to purchase" free of charge. Simply said sign here to pay or we are not installing. Keep in mind I had no drinking water and had a basement full of water. Since I had no option but to sign. The vendor changes me nearly $500 for the installation. Since then I called many times without a response. Subsequently, I mailed a demand letter and have just received a letter from them accusing me of causing the leak and won't refund my money. Also, the vendor spent 4 hours and yet charged me for 8. This is unethical behaviorBusiness response

I apologize that it took a second notice for us to respond to you and this matter; I do not recall seeing the first notice or it would have been addressed right away. We did receive a letter from **************** dated 8/9/22. On August 15, we responded in writing and via certified mail to ******************** concern; that response is attached.
While I feel it is self-explanatory, please do not hesitate to reach out for more details or clarification.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.In their response to me and as I tried to explain. they accused me of tampering with the water feed for the water softener which is not logical or factual. I had no reason to go down to the basement and work on something that has been functioning well for over 10 years. They caused the leak leading to the flooding but they refused to admit it nor make me whole by refunding my money for installing the new water softer I was compelled to putchaseSuffices to say this unethical behavior and a form of cheating customers by denying the truth to avoid taking responsibility for this carelessness "causing damage to my house"
