On 4/12/22 I called Midas because my car was overheating close in their area. They told me I could come in and have it checked out. I pulled in there around 7:30am and informed them that I was on my way to work and that I am still in probation period so my timing is very strict. They told me I should know what is wrong with my car within 30 minutes. I noticed 8:30 a.m. was getting closer and I had to make it so work so they told me they will call me with the problem and the price. They then called me 20 minutes later and told me that the radiator needed to be replaced and the coolant flush for a total of $1,500. So I agreed to that price and that work and he told me he will call me when it is ready. That he did! It is when I arrived to the shop to pick up the car I was immediately told that I just needed to sign the contract that was sent to my phone. (It immediately made me feel that I needed to review it.) So I noticed the price change to $1,900 I asked them why the price changed and he told me I needed additional work. I was very upset about this price change and not being notified and he told me he would get his manager. The manager never came out but he told me that he will probably get in trouble for discounting the **** but he did it as a courtesy for the inconvenience. He said the best he could discount it down to is $1646. I really needed my car so I told him that will do for now and signed the contract. I am still very upset because I did not agree to that amount and I was not told or informed about the additional work that needed to be done. I paid for the inspection which was to figure out in the beginning what was the problem and the amount. I am still very upset about this price change and feel like because I am a female and I was approved for a $2,178 loan that they took advantage of that as a business!
