Brought my animals here for around 8 years at least, I used to love this vet, not anymore, boy have they put money before the care of animals. I brought my dog in last year 12/28 for just a nail trimming. I went to pick him up and paid the bill and it was 273.43, they did an annual exam WITHOUT asking and charged me for it. When I called and asked why that was done without consent they said they would give me a call back after they talked to someone and I never heard back from them. My dog get skin infections throughout the year and breaks out in bloodly sores. They put him on an antibiotic when i brought him in, telling me it was a skin bacteria infection. I went home and gave him his meds and it worked and cleared it up. I also have him on Benadryl to as needed. He broke out again last year and I called and talked to them and asked if I really needed to bring him in everytime his skin breaks out just to get the same meds and I was told no, just call and we will refill the meds. So they refilled the meds for me. Now his skin broke out again and i was out of his meds and i called for a refill just for them to tell me they cant refill it because he needs his annual exam. I stated that he did have it 12/28/2022 and today is 12/27/2023, and he needed them bad as he is broken out. I was then told that in the system it says that if that doesn't work he needs to be seen for his skin for a different med to prevent it. WELL big surprise no one EVER told me that. I was just told that I could call to have it refilled so I didn't have to bring him in each time. I am BEYOND disappointed with this place. I asked if he could get the med prescribed that they were talking about seeing i am still in the one year period and was told no, he had to be seen again, for the same skin issues he has been seen about. It is not like i don't have a veterinarian-client-patient already established with them, I do. No resolution from them at all.

Dear ******,We regret that you encountered any inconvenience at our clinic. Our goal is to provide the best possible care for our patients and their owners, and we take your feedback seriously.Griz is due for an annual exam, as it has been a year since he was last seen. Veterinarians cannot dispense medications without an up-to-date examination and knowledge of your pets health, as well as dispensing medication prescribed by another veterinarian. An annual examination is required for all medications to ensure your pet is still healthy enough to receive the medication. Some medications must be accompanied with lab work as well and the skin condition or change in the pet's health may affect the type of medication that is prescribed. The Apple Valley Veterinary Clinic Team

It was an ok first experience, could have been better and as an pet owner, I did not enjoy it. I was treated with a condescending attitude for not knowing what lesions meant. Beware of people using care credit, they'll know and max it out all the time Possibly the worst vet clinic I could imagine. Rude, lieing employees out to cop as much money from people as possible. The next few visits were not the good and my dogs fear this place more then their old vet or emergency vet (**** *****). For one visit, I brought my dog in for her first surgery ever. I was told I'd be called for a few things, however they didn't call me once. I had to call. The stitches were an old style and they looked brutal. For another visit (just shots), my dogs were so terrified that they didn't want go anywhere near them. Never showed that much fear at old vet or grooming. I also had to administer medication to my dog and NO discount was given. They even ask to do thr appointment in the car, which to me extremely odd especially since it's a planned visit. No waiting room, even when it's 80degrees plus and your vehicle doesn't have a/c, they won't let you in. I don't appreciate the multiple texts asking if I'm coming to the appointment, and when I arrive, I'm forced to wait. I don't appreciate having g to answer the same questions with same answers everytime. Posting this because they asked how they could do better. Start with getting people in right away. Covid has been over for awhile. My dogs seem to fear them right away and the other vet they did not. That makes me worry what goes behind closed doors. They also ask people to wait in their car while visits done, I think is odd cause you can't know if something happens till they come out. They will also hold your dogs hostage. THEY ALWAYS CHARGE FOR A VISIT, DONT BELEIEVE THEM WHEN THEY SAY YOU WONT HAVE TO. $30-$50 per pet FOR 5MIN WITH A DOG. THATS OUTRAGEOUS!! & NOT EVEN FOR A REAL VET TO SEE THEM, JUST A EMPLOYEE

Dear *******, It is our desire to provide the highest quality medical and surgical care for our patients and offer the best possible service to our clients. We strive for this every day, with every client, with every pet.The relationship with your Veterinary Clinic is one that is built on mutual respect and trust. I have reviewed the notes from your previous appointments, and it appears that you do not respect the trust of our dedicated support staff. We are a medical facility and must abide by the law when it comes to diagnosing and treatment of pets.Due to your behavior, on multiple occasions, we will no longer see your pets for any reason.Respectfully,******** Practice Manager Apple Valley Veterinary Clinic

Apple Valley Veterinary Clinic is abusing my elderly mother. Apple Valley's treatment of my 84 year-old, half-blind, and disabled mother is reprehensible, rising to the point of elder abuse. My mother utilized A.V.V.C.'s House Calls, for in-home veterinary services, due to her being unable to drive. Their veterinarian diagnosed my mother’s cat with diabetes. The A.V.V.C. veterinarian then began selling Very Expensive diabetic cat food to my mother. When I saw their price, I ordered diabetic cat food from Chewy, for home delivery. A.V.V.C. refused to provide the Chewy Representatives with the required 'verbal' prescription (yes, you need a prescription to purchase diabetic cat food) and stated that my 84 year-old mother needed to "call a cab, because the prescription needs to be hand delivered" The Chewy representatives I spoke with confirmed that all they need was a verbal (or) return fax from A.V.V.C. In that my mother can't drive (33 miles) to physically pick up a prescription, and A.V.V.C. will not verbally approve or return fax the prescription to chewy, mom is now forced to purchase A.V.V.C.'s overpriced cat food. A.V.V.C. had no issue calling/faxing Walgreen's for the pharmaceutical diabetic prescription. Clearly, this clinic preys on senior citizens who have few veterinarian resources/options due to physical disabilities.

      *****,

We are very sorry to see your review and feedback. We want you to know that we read all of our reviews and take the time to understand the feedback and see what we might be able to do better. In regards to the food that we recommended, the Royal Canin Feline Glycobalance diet is specifically formulated to help minimize post-prandial blood glucose fluctuations in cats. This is a brand that we trust in and believe was the best fit.  Unfortunately, we do not authorize prescriptions by phone or fax for any outside pharmacy as long as we carry the (medication or food) in our clinic or in our online store.  Due to liability precautions, if we have a client that wants to get a prescription (medication or food) from an outside pharmacy such as Chewy, they would be given a paper prescription along with a liability waiver to sign to release our clinic from any of their products.  This is to ensure that all prescriptions are filled correctly. Each online store has its own set of guidelines on how paper prescriptions are addressed. We strive to provide the best possible care for all of our patients and their owners. We are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment for all of our clients. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact **.

      All the best,
      Apple Valley Veterinary Clinic

If there was a negative 10 star I would give that, I have never ever been treated so disgusting in a business before, I took my dog in today, the vet and technician where very nice and helpful but when it came time to pay, I only had checks because I was Christmas shopping all week so didnt have $500 on my credit card until I went home to get more money to go to the bank so not realizing they didnt take checks anymore, the manager wanted me to sign up for a credit card to pay, even though I was coming back the next day to do X-rays, I said I could bring cash tomorrow because it was already 4:00 I would have time to come back tonight, I gave her my license and my credit card to take a copy of it, but she screamed at me told me to get out, and grabbed the medicine back from my sick dog wow and spit in my face as she was screaming at me telling me she was going to call the cops and she actually did call after I left saying I tried to give a bad check, my dog was so scared she hunched down and tried to run out the door, I left in tears my husband had to come home early so he could bring them the money, after all that I get home still in tears the cops called me to inform me I wasnt allowed at apple valley anymore wow she called the cops to tell them I had a bad check and said I was the one yelling and calling her names, which I never did wow I wouldnt have ever wanted to go back there ever again anyway, this woman is crazy and I went there for about 5 years and always wrote a check even as of June of last year, I used to think they cared about the animals but she doesnt even care about the people, she told my husband I was the 3rd person today to do this to her today, dont know what it was we all did but I think she needs to take a class on how to talk to people especially if your a so called manager, very very rude and unprofessional, she needs professional HELP!
