Unethical company: claims that a "correct" installation is not the same as an installation that is up to code (and would thus pass inspection). Once the inspection fails, they will blame you, the customer, since you signed that the work was done and will charge you to have the installation brought up to code. Fine if that were only for materials and labor (which really should have been warranty work, but okay), but they also add a "service charge" of $189, just because. We have a health and safety checklist that we conduct before every installation. We walk every customer through this and give them the opportunity to understand what is required by code, *** be an additive option for comfort and that if they chose not to have certain items installed, they *** fail their code inspection. We require a signature on this document. If the customer chooses not to proceed with an item that *** fail inspection, we will install the unit. We pull permits on every water heater installation that we install. Some inspectors have subjective approaches to meeting requirements, this is why we communicate with the customer in the health and safety check. We also let the customer know that if the installation fails based on choosing not to install certain items at the time of install there will be a charge for our return trip.Review from Virgil R

Not same-day service. Went to ********** because they advertise "same-day" installation, but their only installation company is Fast Water Heater Co. Called them from the store and they were at least two days out before they could install the water heater. ********** should either stop advertising same-day service, or contract with a company who can actually deliver what their website promises. I didn 't even get a follow up email from Fast Water Heater until the third day after contacting them.Review from Min Z

I have mixed feelings about this service.The service professional ***** *** who scheduled the appointment is very friendly and professional. He asked relevant questions to ensure we identify the right models and the detailed installation conditions in the house and put it on the morning of 4/9/2022, with a quote of $2,709 + tax.Then the service professional ******* *** came in the morning of 4/9/2022 and quickly said he can't do the job and he needs to come back tomorrow 4/10/2022 with a different *********** he needs to cut holes in the ceiling with an additional $500 charge, and he said it would take him more than 4 hours to do the installation and the price should be $3,709 + tax.Then ******* came in the morning of 4/10/2022, spending less than 2 hours to finish the job, without having to cut the hole on the ceiling at all - he said he was creative and found a trick to just open 2-3 inches on the ceiling, which was in ***** contrast to cut a big hole on the ceiling with a $500 the day before; right before he starts the job before we open the garage for him to come in, he said it will take him 3-4 hours; but he entered into the house at 9:40 am and left 11:38 am less than 2 hours.It just made me feel ******* is very dishonest, all he wanted is to **** up the price of more than $1,000 for no good reason. I called these folks for a non-emergency appointment. Was very clear that I needed them to get a permit first. I was also very clear that I would not be on-site, that I had a property manager who would be there and they would need to email the invoice (which I needed for taxes) and I would send payment as soon as the inspection cleared. I left the phone feeling like we had an agreement. The installer called me on the appointed day to come and let him in - he was supposed to call property management. He then told me that he needed me to come and pay him before he would start the job. I told him the arrangement and he wouldn't start. I tried to call the company. After a 15 minute hold, I told the representative the issue. She put me back on hold. After 30 minutes more minutes I gave up. Installer demanded payment NOW or he would just leave. Said permit would take 4 months (I checked with my City - 5 minutes on the website and the inspection happens the next day.) He refused to email me an invoice. I should have walked away, but I gave him my credit card number. Should have let him walk away and called another plumber.Fast Water Heater Company Response

I have reviewed this call and there were some areas that could have been clarified better by our call center representative. This was a complicated process the customer wanted involving multiple parties However, I would note that there was no expectation set for payment post permit, a practice that we do not do and would not do based on a litany of reasons. We are 100% compliant in all of the states we operate and have a 35 year track record of fully permitted work. Many cities have been taking up to 3-6 months to process permits due to Covid staffing issues and budget cuts. Water Heater replacement is considered an emergency service so we pull our permits after the work is complete to take care of our customers. Furthermore we always offer free estimates, if the homeowner does not feel comfortable with the any aspect of the installation we leave them with estimate and will honor the price if they choose to install in the next 6 months. Company scheduled an appointment in a 5 hour window on a work day. I had to take the day off work in order to meet the ************************** cancelled the appointment on the same day halfway through the work day, stated that an appointment later this same day from another installer in another window was not possible. constantly spoken over by rep and unable to get a word in during most discussions then hung up on after i got frustrated. After looking at additional reviews I have found at least 3 other ****** reviews stating the same thing some naming the same sales rep I interacted with specifically.Fast Water Heater Company Response

I have reached out to the customer and am waiting to hear back. There are rare times that we need to move around our scheduling based on technician availability which is strained in this employment environment. We understand that this can be very frustrating. After pulling the call there are certainly areas that we could improve upon in our communication and resolution. I would think about it when this company offers you a job they offered me employment The same day I was offered an appointment I asked them to think about it and talk it over with my wife And asked if I could let them know the following Monday The same night I had a death in the family so I had to fly out Of town Called and let them know what was going on Let them know that I would call them on Monday and let them know my answer Which was fine with them When I called on MondayTo let them know I would take the job I was told they had to see if the job was offered Was still available After they told me it was no problem to call on Monday. Didn't receive a call back on Monday The following Tuesday I get a message that they gave it to somebody else After I had already given my notice to my present job Now I'm going to be without a job at Christmas I think this was very cold hearted of this company To do such a thing to me. All I asked for was 2 extra days to make a decision while dealing with a death. So I would just think twice about working for this company.Fast Water Heater Company Response

We take issue with the timeline above and also contend there were other issues surrounding this situation. Without going into the specifics of our decision we want to note that the overall time frame was over two weeks. The role had an accepted offer between that time frame. Additionally, there were other factors but we feel a public forum is not the correct place to illustrate those issues. You no that is not true i had a interveiw on dec 7th today is 15th that is not two weeks what you guys did was cold and not fair to do to someone .I can show the texts to prove what i say is true im not up set you got someone eles im up set on the way you did it after saying i had an offer of work and then give me tell monday to give you an Answer And when I called to give you the answer and tell you I will work for you Your worker tells me she will check and see if offer still stands And not even call me back until I call you the next day telling you I hadn't heard back then tell me you hired somebody else After I given notice I don't know who is responding to this but I can backup everything I said By showing texts If you would like?
