When Pacific Source pulled their commercial plan from Washington state I decided to try Ambetter Health and purchased through the state website. I have to have a toxic thyroid nodule removed as it's contributing to significant health symptoms, including heart issues, and Ambetter has denied all of my in-network endocrine visits. They are also denying procedures to have the nodule removed as is medically required and well documented. Washingtonians deserve better access to medically necessary healthcare. Doctors, not Ambetter ***************** should be dictating my medical care.

Really wish I had looked up reviews before signing up. No urgent cares in ********** take this insurance. Primary care is booked several months out. Anytime you use the website to find a doctor, no one they list actually take this insurance. Only cheap generics are covered. ******* is covered, but useless. As one reviewer said, it is really a stay home and day situation.

I had to switch insurance companies because the plan I was with left my state. After speaking with a representative from Ambetter, I was assured my medications (all generic) were covered under their formulary. Now that I'm trying to get them filled, almost all of them are requiring prior authorization. To make matters worse, the company constantly lies about getting the prior auth paperwork, **** tells me different stories every time I call, (some say no pror auth required when it does, some say waiting on paperwork when ** has sent numerous times, others say not received, then others say it was received but they already closed the claim, etc). Meanwhile I don't have my meds so I'm sick. It should be criminal to do this to people! can't imagine what will happen if I need a scan or hospital stay.

This the worst insurance company on the planet. My wife was approved for psoriasis medication in September of 2024 and after making more than 40 phone calls she was still never approved. They continually said they needed more information from the **************. Nothing was ever resolved except absolute frustration. The fact that washington health path finder represent and or recommends this joke of a company is unbelievable. No wonder they can afford to advertise on tv they collect premiums and never have to pay for s*** for there customers. A total joke never use this piece of c*** company. Absolutely worthless

November 9th, I received a letter of eligibility from WA Healthplanfinder (HPF) for a rollover plan with Ambetter. The initial premium was for $994.85. I qualified for a tax credit of $734.00 leaving a premium balance of $260.85.December 9th I received a bill from Ambetter for $994.85. I contacted Ambetter and they claimed my income tax information had not been updated with the State-Based Exchange. *** confirmed I had updated my application correctly.Spent the next three weeks being bounced between the two entities, each claiming the other was in error. Finally advised by *** to make a payment of $260.85 on January 2 to Ambetter. *** then recreated a second application, sent, and confirmed it went through. I immediately made the payment, contacted Ambetter to verify the received the application and payment. Ambetter said the did receive the information, however, it would take 3-5 days to process.January 10. No adjustment had been made, they billed me for $1728.85, $734 "balance" from January and $994.85 for February. I cancelled my policy from Ambetter that day and signed up with another carrier. My application was accepted and my tax credit applied within ********** of January 22 there has been no response from an enrollment issue ticket submitted by *** to Ambetter, but I did receive another bill for $734.00, confirming they did receive my policy termination.

Truly awful. They happily take my premiums, then refuse to pay the bills they are obligated to pay. Then I have to waste hours of my time on the phone trying to find out how to appeal their ridiculous decisions (because of course they tell me I can appeal but don't include any contact information for how to make that appeal happen), while their representatives waste more of my time by thanking me profusely for getting to talk to me and other such nonsense. If you love people taking your money then not providing the service you are purchasing and then trying to misdirect, confuse, and wear you down while you try to assert your rights to get what you paid for, this insurance company would be great for you. Absolutely maddening.

The most incompetent insurance company I've ever dealt with. You've been warned!!! One star is just too much. Do we have a zero star rating, by chance? I have spent over 5 hours on the phone with this insurance agency fighting to get reimbursed for two vaccines I had to pay out of pocket, when in fact, my vaccines are covered under my family plan. All they do is shuffle me around from one person to the next. They also told me I was in a ****** period' as my November premium was not paid, but it was paid in full Oct 31. They then told me to go back to ************ to have them file a claim, and *** says they do not file claims. I next have filed a claim on my Ambetter account, and these guys just continue to move me from one person to the next. These guys are absolutely clueless.
