I called R&R Spokane Painting on 28 Feb 2022 because they had great reviews and the owner was very personable. When he came to my home, he gave me a quote of $500 cash to paint my vaulted ceilings with me supplying the paint. He and a coworker showed up 2 Mar 2022 on the time and got to work. My room is 24x24 and he requested for me to have all my furniture in the center of the room. They covered my furniture with tarps. Half the room floor was cover with a polyethylene tarp and the other half with canvas tarps. They poured my paint into a large tub and went to work. I watched from another room and observed that they were ******* to get the job done quickly. There was paint slinging everywhere which induced other issue as they walked into the main part of my house dragging paint onto my laminate floors. I was able to clean the main portion of the house but when they were completed, the part of the room that was covered with canvas tarps had allowed the spilled paint to soak through and get onto my carpet. After picking everything up they went to work on cleaning my carpet with Goo Gone to remove the paint. They got all the paint up however there were white rings everywhere they cleaned up paint. The next day I called the owner and explained what my carpet looked like and that I had to call Zerorez to come over and clean my carpet. He asked me to send photos and I did. Thanks goodness that Zerorez got my carpet cleaned but the painting of the room cost me an additional $120 due to R&R Spokane Painting sloppiness. I have text and attempted to call him back to request a reimbursement of the carpet cleaning ****. He has blocked my number and I cannot get in touch with him.

My name is *******, I'm the administrative assistant for R&R Spokane Painting. I'm sorry to hear about your experience as I know how flustrating that can be when things don't turn out how they should. Hearing this, I would like to make things correct with you. However, after looking over our records, I'm not seeing anything within our records, ie: invoices, quotes, or a contract, that states we provided any services to you at the above-listed address. Can you provide any documentation that states we provided the above services for you?

I am rejecting this response because:  The reason you don't see a invoice or quote is because the owner of the company that came over asked me to pay in cash and he would give me a better deal. If you want to send me your business email I would gladly send you close circuit video of him on his knees attempting to clean my carpet. See attached

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

I'm not sure how to respond to this other than to ask if you received a receipt for the payment that you made? Or any kind of documentation that states that our company did business with you? As I don't have any paperwork stating we did business with you or for you. Have you contacted the person that went to home and did the painting work for you?

I am rejecting this response because:

The way to respond to this is to reimburse me for the carpet cleaning ($120). I do not want a refund on the job ($500), I just want a refund for the additional cost that your company placed on me for the spots all over my carpet. I would gladly supply you with a receipt for the carpet cleaning. Attached is a photo of the business card that the owner ******* Pfefferie gave me. Also, there is a photo of his truck with his logo on the door, license plate number and him walking to my house and him trying to clean. All the photos place him here and, in my house, doing the job. I have many videos of them painting and attempting to clean the mess they made on my carpet. I know you do not have paperwork stating he did the work. You keep asking me for documentation which you and ******* know that there is none, there is plenty of proof that he was here and that he painted and made a mess of my carpet, the proof is in the photos and videos. Yes, I have reached out to him ******* Pfefferie (Owner) and he asked me to send photos. I have done that, and it shows that it was delivered. He now has blocked my calls so that I cannot get in touch with him. You can claim all you want that ******* has not been here or has not done the job, but the photos tell it all and a ****** learned on my behalf not to do business with somebody like this.
      Sincerely,

      ***********************

The only documentation that I have that shows any contact with this company is text messaging. Again, after our initial phone call the company owner asked me to send him a text message with my address and I did so. Attached is the last text I sent him with his phone number shown above the text.

Okay sorry as the office assistant i want make sure that I'm understanding the full complaint and what it is that you are asking for. You are stating that the owner needs to refund you in the amount of ****** for a carpet cleaning ****. That you had to pay for due to spilled paint on your carpet. But yet you said yourself, the owner had cleaned up all the spilled paint on the carpets before leaving? Do you have the **** for the carpet being cleaned for the area where the paint was spilled? Do you have pictures of the spilled paint that you can share with me as well? Before and after picture would be so helpful. I would like to work with you on resolving this issue as soon as possible. Let me know if you have any other information for me so that I can take this all to the owner about completing the refund to you. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: The owner (*********************************) attempted to clean the spots on my carpet which left a residue wherever he poured Goo Gone on the paint spots. I do not have before images of my carpet because I did not expect this to happen. Attached are the images of the spots reflecting the residue left on my carpet after his attempt to clean up the mess. Also attached is the invoice from Zerorez for the cleaning. I have many other photos but I am limited on how large of a file that I am able to load on this site. Again, I would be happy with getting the cost of the carpet cleaning refunded.

      Sincerely,

Unfortunately, without any kind of documentation stating that R & R Spokane Painting completed work for you at your residence, a quote, an invoice, or a receipt we will not be able to issue a refund. If you can provide any kind of written documentation that shows services were provided to you by our company, we can provide a reimbursement to you for the amount you requested. However, as a business we require documentation to provide any refunds, reimbursements, or to dispute any charges.

      Complaint: 16990668

I am rejecting this response because: I will always reject your response until I get refunded my $120 carpet cleaning ****. I see this is going nowhere. Your previous response was for me to provide you with the cleaning invoice, and I did. You havent had any intentions from the beginning to reimburse me for the damage you guys have induced. I see the way you guys do business and this is no way to treat your customers. You guys asked me to pay cash to cover your tracks in case there is an issue. There is no doubt that ******* was here and completed the job and mess. The proof is in the pictures and video. I guess my next step when this completed is to file a complaint with the ************************* If I dont have luck with that, I will file with **************** Small Claims Court. Then when I have ******* Pfefferie subpoenaed to court, and with ******* standing there, the court will see in the videos and pictures that there will be no way for him to say that he didnt do the job. Ill ask for the carpet cleaning cost, filing fee, subpoena fee by the ******************** and whatever other induced cost that this has incurred. Look I am a reasonable person and would be happy with the carpet cleaning reimbursement. If you would like to proceed down the road mentioned above, we can do that and see how it goes.

      Sincerely,

The owner of this company (******* Pfefferie) came to my house and told me if I pay him cash he will give me a discount for a total cost of the job of $500 which includes the discount. After completing the job, I paid him the $500 and he did not provide me with a receipt. Maybe I should report this to The IRS.

I received a quote for removal of popcorn celling's, prep of the celling's and painting throughout my **** sqft home and painting of cabinets, in my kitchen of my home on May 16, work began on May 18, 2021 with all work to be completed within ********************************************* the master bath, master bedroom and closest. I became concerned after 2 weeks as work was not progressing as promised. With many many excuses, as work progressed I became aware that the finished product was not going to be satisfactory, as the preparation for paint was not done properly. For 2 weeks we had discussions that the celling's and walls were not ready for paint. In addition there were many conversation's as to the lack of protection of overspray of surfaces not to be refinished, wood work, new wood floors, light fixtures ,sky lights and bathroom fixtures including the shower and bathtub. Not only did he not complete the work, did considerable damage to my home, including breaking the tub

I gave the quote for the removal of popcorn ceilings, texturing and painting of ********s home and kitchen cabinets in the month ofMay. The quote was accepted by both ******** and her husband ***** on that sameday. The work on their trailer home began shortly after. The crew started workin the master bathroom and completed this area first.
Because the popcorn ceiling was being removed, in thetrailer home (the bedroom and closet areas) a new texturing machine was being purchasedby my business for this job. Once the machine was ordered the homeowners werenotified about this order. Because the business was unable to pick-up the item ata store location this would cause a small delay on the timeline given.********s husband, ***** was notified that the crew was completed with themaster bathroom work that they had requested. However, the crew would return towork on the master bedroom and closet the following week around Wednesday orThursday to complete the texturing.
Upon returning to the home with the new texturing machine Ifound out that the homeowners trailer couldnt properly power the machine. Tohelp with these issues, the homeowner needed to keep all appliances off in thehome when I was there working. This would ensure that my tools and equipment towork properly for myself and my crew. We still had several issues with thepower, fuses flipping and finally the brand-new texture machine blowing up dueto the power shortages. Causing the machine to no long function; it needed tobe repaired. However, the crew was able to get enough texture applied to theceiling to complete the job for the master bedroom and closet area. Butcompleting the remainder of the house would be delayed since the machine wouldnow need to be repaired or a new machine would need to be purchased by thebusiness and shipped out.
Since the rooms were textured the crew members waited forthe texture to dry before painting could begin. Due to the house not staying ata constant temperature and the lack of air circulation the texture took longerto adhere to the ceilings than normal to the trailer home. Which left the crew andhomeowners waiting and frustrated with the time delays.
Once all work was completed in the master bedroom and closetareas. The homeowners informed me and the crew members that they had not justmyself but 3 other contractors on site working on their home at that time, onthe 14th of June and they would be completing the remaining work. So, all parties (I, ******** ********, and *****) agreed that everyone wouldpart ways on the 14th of June. This was the last conversation that Ior any of my crew had with ******** and ***** on the 14th of June whenall work was completed, areas were cleaned and tools were packed; a walk-throughwas completed and we parted ways.
On the 26th of June, I received a text messagefrom ***** accusing one of my crew members of breaking their bathtub or a pieceto their master bathroom area. However, nor myself or any member of my crew hadbeen in their master bathroom area for weeks at this point. Nor have anyone hadcontact with them. We hadnt been on their property or job site in over twoweeks. And no one was working in the master bathroom area for longer than this. All projects that took place in the master bathroom area were completed withinthe first two days we were on the property in May. Everyone agreed to part ****** the 14th of June when things were packed and a walk through wascompleted. And they, both ******** and ***** had stated to both myself and mycrew that they had 3 different contractors working on their home in June.
Also, my business is a construction business and things doget a bit messy with dust and drywall, especially when removing things such aspopcorn ceiling and applying new texturing. However, everything is cleanable inthe end and can be removed from all surfaces if given the time to do so. Mycrew does the best to their ability to clean up after themselves. They do sweepup and vacuum daily before leaving the worksite and pickup all tools andgarbage. However, they arent a cleaning service and people need to understandthat things will be getting a bit messy and dirty due to construction beingdone within their home.
