          On November 26, 2018, BBB received a report in BBB’s Scam Tracker alleging Thomas Geantil Real Estate contacted a consumer to purchase their timeshare for well above current marketplace value. The consumer alleges the business required them to wire funds to a bank account in Mexico as a part of the transaction. In addition, they required the consumer to get an RFC number for tax purposes.  The consumer also provided BBB a copy of the Membership Purchase Offer. Consumers stated they use Charter Title Insurance Corporation, whose business review can be viewed by clicking here, https://www.bbb.org/us/wa/seattle/profile/title-companies/charter-title-insurance-corporation-1296-1000064890?bluerefx=1. 
          BBB has reached out to Thomas Geantil Real Estate via mail at 2109 9th Ave Seattle, WA 98121 but the mail was returned; BBB also reached out via email [email protected], and has not heard from the business.
          Thomas Geantil Real Estate is not a licensed real estate broker or property manager in the State of Washington.  Charter Title Insurance Corporation is not licensed as an escrow agency in Washington State.  BBB found the website for Thomas Geantil Real Estate was created on September 17, 2018, and is privacy protected. BBB recommends verifying the licensing of all real estate and escrow companies before doing business. When selling a timeshare, consumers should not be required to pay advanced fees to the buyer, real estate agency, escrow/title company, or the Mexican government.
