Poplar Homes bought the management company that I was using for my duplex. My experience with them is that they are poorly staffed and extremely unorganized. They get things wrong frequently - in data entry and in accounting. And it takes weeks of being persistent to get a hold of a real person. You can't reach anyone by phone, e-mail, or online messaging, and usually nobody ever returns any messages - so it's very frustrating to get their mistakes sorted out and takes way too long. I just feel like they care about collecting money but not too much about providing any sort of services to their customers. Do not recommend. I've cancelled my contract and am happily with a small local PM company now.Review from James C

I have been dealing with Poplar Homes for three months. They are the most unprofessional, lackluster, convoluted company I have ever dealt with. In the 20 or so interactions we've had, every single one has been marked with miscommunication or errors on their part. We have spent a week trying to contact them about a utilities bill that includes prior tenants, and we are at risk of having utilities shut off, and poplar homes will not call us back. Our point of contact is useless and we are told we have to wait for them to call us. Avoid this rental agency at all costs.Review from Sean A

I was a long time client of *******************************, and was pleased with their service. Once JLS was acquired by Poplar Homes, costs and fees increased, and service drastically decreased. There were maintenance issues with the property, but i could not speak to anyone who knew what was happening. The only people I could reach were at a call center in the the ******-pines. They were pleasant enough, but could provide no information. Due to the rapid decline in service, I chose to terminate my relationship with Poplar Homes. The transition was poorly executed in line with the companies previous performance. The move out inspection missed significant damage to the property, they bungled the return of the security deposit to the tenants, and dragged their feet on returning the keys to the property. I caution anyone who considers trusting their property with this company.Review from Doug L

This company seems like a scam. They won't answer the phone or text or e-mails when enquiries are made. Can't make an appointment with anyone. One call that did answer was a overseas call center. Since they took over from ************ Scott customer service has become non existent. I think a one star rating is too high. ************Review from Jeff K

Ended up with Poplar Homes after they acquired the John L Scott property management division. Service went down hill fast. Been trying to get our property inspected for 7 months now. Partially done after 5 months after many many emails and phone calls. Got every excuse in the book. Finally gave up trying to contact our local property manger and started dealing with their customer support center which is in ***************.
