          Pattern of Complaint

          On October 17, 2022, Better Business Bureau recognized a pattern of consumer complaints against Seattle Movers WA regarding advertising issues, contract issues, as well as repair and service issues. 

          Consumers allege Seattle Movers WA presents itself as a licensed and insured mover, though the USDOT and the WA UTC numbers provided on their advertising are that of an unrelated moving company. Consumers also claim that the cost of the agreed upon bid is changed due to unreliable quotes, and are adjusted before the move is complete.

          According to consumers, damage and loss of items occurs as a result of improper packaging and handling of their belongings.  Additionally, consumers claim the equipment needed to safely transport the goods is inadequate, requiring the number of trips to increase and extending the given length of the move.

          Of the 5 consumer complaints, 5 consumer reviews, and 2 Scam Tracker reports, Seattle Movers WA has made no effort to resolve or reply to concerns related to their business practices.

          On October 25, 2022, BBB notified Seattle Movers WA of the complaint pattern. As of October 26, 2022, Seattle Movers WA has not responded to BBB's request to address the complaint pattern. 

          Advertising Review

          On June 27, 2022, Better Business Bureau contacted Seattle Movers WA regarding an advertising claim found on its website, https://www.seattlemoverswa.org. Specifically, Seattle Movers WA fails to supply the required State of Washington Utilities and Transportation Household Goods Carriers license, as well as the required Federal Motor Carrier Department of Transportation (USDOT) on the company website.

          When reviewing the required movers' licensing, according to Washington Utilities & Transportation Commission, Seattle Movers WA fails to have the needed license to operate as an Intrastate mover.  According to the US Department of Transportation, Seattle Movers WA fails to have a motor carrier permit required for all Interstate movers.

           

          Despite written requests, as of August 9, 2022, Seattle Movers WA has failed to substantiate or modify its advertisement.
