I called to confirm this business accepted debit card for rental and was told that they do as long as a deposit was held. I reserved a car through their own website and was charged in full. Upon showing up to the rental location and after spending money for an uber trip to get there, I was told that the car company charges an extra ************************************************************************ on the car rental website nor was it given to me on the phone when I called to confirm. I paid $225 and a rental car was not rented to me. The office personnel gave me the number to call their headquarters and the number was not in service. I would like a refund for the fee already paid in full. The office personnel also told me that if I want a refund I would need to file a complaint against them in civil court. I don't think a customer should have to take the business to court for a refund especially if service was not rendered. This is a scam.Customer response

I reserved the rental car from the Seattle Rent a Wreck location. Phone number and address for this location is in attached screen shot as well as my receipt and confirmation number. I was informed of an extra 85 dollar charge AFTER I arrived at the location and confirmed in a phone call that there were no additional charges for debit card usage, only a required deposit of up to 300 dollars. I was told the only way to recieve a refund would be to file a civil court case against the company. The number for the complaint headquarters of Rent a Wreck I was given by the desk clerk was not in service. I tried calling it twice while standing in the rental office. Other customers were present when I was told the only way to get a refund would be to file a civil court case. If such action is necessary I will pursue tort damages and refund for both uber trips to and from my residence to pick up the rental car. I will also pursue emotional and personal damages in a tort.
