Charged $1,200 after departing. Over $1,000 of that, they claimed, was from painting the unit and wall damage. The place had not been fully painted before we moved in, so I questioned this charge. Jenny ***** said they "charged us less than what it actually cost to paint, since they did not believe it was fair that we would have to pay that much". After much back and forth, it was found out the unit only cost $800 to paint (finally was sent the receipt after 2 weeks). I asked for my refund and was refused since they said they had an "estimator" come in and give them an idea of what it would cost to paint. I sent a letter in the mail requesting a refund and have not received a response. We were great tenants, paid our bill fully throughout all of COVID and had mold in our shower for months, no dryer for months, broken sink when we moved in, leaky fridge, etc. We even moved out early so the owner could sell the unit! I didn't ask for anything more than to be fair when we moved out and only be charged for what we caused in the house, 60% of the paint. Instead we go charged 20% more than the actual price of painting the unit. Terrible last impression and not a professional way to conduct business.Business response

We would like to work through this issue with the tenant. We have attempted to contact him several times, but he has not gotten back to us. The original painting performed an assessment the property’s paint condition and charged the owner $200 for their report. The owner incurred this cost but decided to use another vendor to do the work. we have attached the invoice for review. While this cost was a "turn" expense we understand that this is a frustrating situation for the tenant. Please have the tenant contact their property manager, Jenny so we can work to resolve the issue.
