Started the process of ordering a home through Homes Direct in Mt ****** Washington in mid March of 2022. What a joke they are the lady that took our order couldnt get us a price to put half down for what amounts to a week shy of six months. So our $500 down to lock the price in didnt survive. In fact we were told 4 months later in July not to worry that our price hasnt gone up and assured us the factory was working on the changes we had asked for. We had asked for some changes that needed re-engineering apperently and were assured that custom changes were no problem. That custom homes was their business. We wanted the two entry doors moved 1 foot over from their placement in the floor plans cost engineering of $5,000. Hmmm? The $500 down is just a fallacy and they will not get you a price before the 60 day expiration expires. Either your permit needs to be acquired or their price completed for the 60 days to apply. Which when confronted with the 60 day timeline to lock in the price I was told by the manager there that it was rarely met. Let me repeat that for everyone RARELY MET basically a bait and switch plan to grab your money but charge you more. So after a week shy of 6 months of back and forth asking for a final price we finally recieved a final price that went up $22,000 on just the base price not including any changes or upgrades we asked for and was told it would continue to go up until half down was put down. The funny thing about this is we made it very clear we were paying cash from a recent home sale and could put half down the first week to lock in the price but couldnt even get a locked in price for 6 months. Hmmmm? The lady that took our order hardly ever took our calls and hardly ever returned our calls. very disappointed in her. When we went to the office to talk about the discrepancies we had and offered to buy the home off the internet base price that was much lower and that we would complete our own hauling and set up. Nope.

The 1 star rating is only for the person that helped us with our design and purchase. If i could have gone with no stars I would have. We started this process September 2020. We worked our red tape which took several months and made our down payment April 2021 . Were told **** weeks we should expect delivery. After no word from Homes Direct for months July / August coming and site prep looming I started to probe for answers. After no response from Homes Direct I went directly to the home builder. I received a new timeline from the home builder pretty much stating my home hadn't even been started yet and i was set for delivery. I realigned all my obligations and again waited till now November/December. We now approached the new timeline and we are on week 29 and I again started probing due to no information from Homes direct and also home builder. After a couple weeks and slowly more aggressive emails from myself i finally got a response that told me they had looked to the production line and as of December 17th they still had nothing on my home. So still not even started. I pursued additional information due to again told delivery timeline is flawed and again no answers. This brought a call finally from Homes Direct, but the call only brought more bad news of a new timeline to maybe February 2022 delivery, but this is still just a guess. We have invested $90,000.00 in a down payment to secure a **** week built home and are looking at 43 weeks of waiting for potentially no home at this new target. Oh I must add that my family, due to the non-communicated schedule changes from Homes Direct is now sitting homeless on our property slated ready for this house. Our misfortune has already convinced several of our friends to go a different route. They were planning to do something similar to our idea if things went smooth for us. Well that was answered for them pretty much 4 months ago at the first issue we encountered.

Made our down payment over a year ago, made the financial closing over 7 months ago, still not a word about where our house is.
